My whole chin got split into two, creating a symphyseal fracture. I lost some teeth, too. Instead of MMF, I got the IMF screws, wires and plates. ORIF, yes. I'm halfway into the 1.5 months healing process. It's kind of a torture, but I'll get through it.

But if the mouth stays closed for that time, healthcare providers must treat you with physiotherapy with the jaw after the healing. Since it's been closed for a long time and needed a position to heal in.

Can a large portion of tuber bone that has ben removed in a wisdomtooth extraction be repaired? I have also been having problems with my jaw muscle in that area, it get inflammed everytime I talk. Is it possible tgat it was also damaged?
I'm recovering from jaw surgery due to a dentigerous cyst. It went undetected for a while and then this February, I went to an out of network dentist who was great. He saw something on my X-rays and sent me to an oral surgeon. I was devastated because I was told that I needed surgery since the cyst had perforated my mandible and I was at risk for fracture. My surgery was just over a month ago and I had great surgeons. I'm still in pain and have swelling that's gotten better but I still have a way to go. This is not something that happens often but I urge people to monitor their bottom wisdom teeth well with panoramic imaging if they haven't been removed. My other dentists were not good and didn't even use panoramic X-rays. This could have been caught when the cyst was small. If you feel your dentist is bad, move on. I know many people can't afford to choose their own dentist and have to stay in their network of providers but at least make sure you get panoramic imaging.

@@ranahamza8271 after 42 days you should start semi solids and then after 3 months you should eat normally. Keep yourself aside from hard things.

Had plates installed, thankfully they did it without wire my mouth shut

Most of These procedures are done from inside the mouth not outside. So the cuts and scars are not visible on the face.
