I don't care what the pros say, I like using them occasionally just to be creative. I'm not a pro, I just do what I enjoy. I've got a collection of lenses, but the fisheye is just so unique.
It may be good to add that straight lines that run through the center of the picture remain straight. So by putting the horizon in the middle of the frame the barrel distortion can be made less obvious.
Interesting to hear that in the photography world fisheye lenses are conidered to distort while wide angles do not. Rectilinear is as distorted as equidistant projection, while our human peripheral view is much closer to a fisheye than a wide angle. This may be somewhat philosophical for anyone familiar with the domain, but for newcomers expect distortion of some kind with any ultra wide lens 😉
I like to fish eye lens because it's real wide like a super wide lens. Most of the time when you take photos of something it looks like a golf club ball I mean everything looks around
An interesting side effect, you can do street photography of people when standing right next to them. The camera is pointing away and they have no idea!

Thanks for sharing!
Thankyou, I just bought a fisheye and that was a great introduction.
Glad it was helpful!
Thanks! Very strait and didactic.

Great tip! Thank you for contributing to the conversations!
I'd be curious how to magnify and wide angle for multi exposure lunar eclipse to really see moon phases from start to finish.
