No idea what the difference is between a Spellbook and a Release Event Box is? What set is best to start with and collect affordably? What products to avoid or focus on? This is the video for you! I used to collect Pokémon cards back in the 90s/early 2000s. I just recently started collecting Pokémon cards again (151 set) then came across metazoo and now I'm completely obsessed. I absolutely love the hole cryptozoology thing and the art style reminds me of the old Pokémon cards. And the best part for me is each set has a theme to it, that makes it so much more exiting. An extra fun thing they added is each set I believe has a secret rare card that is worth Alot of money (I'm talking thousands of dollars) only 100 or so are printed in each set so there's a limited amount which makes them even more sort after.

Thanks Pete you really helped me narrow down what I needed to do for my collection. I started off with UFO as well but I didn't start until maybe last month. So now my collection is racking up and all I need now is the 1st edition cryptic nation and the native Boxes thanks a Buch Pete
I started out with collecting pokémon because my kids and tattoo artist were into them and i really enjoy the artwork. I just discovered metazoo and as a huge fan of cryptids and all things creepy and mysterious I am so excited about them so here i am researching before i spend a bunch of money to collect the cards. I love these cards already a lot for the cool art and Im super excited to start my collection.
I’m definitely interested in a follow up video where you talk about the future of Metazoo and your speculation about what’s to come.

Very informative. I fell in love with Metazoo back in June or July and I too pulled an SR from Argos. UFO Sky snake. I actually pulled 2 box toppers from one walmart hanger, the cn/nightfall boxes. It was super light so I stayed away for a day, then picked it up the next day. Got 2 cn2 boxtoppers... not a blue ink, but still graded and in my collection!
Wow awesome I forgot that box toppers are possible in those hanger boxes, but two in one box is pretty crazy! I have watched Argos pulling your Sky Snake a few times and it never gets old. I can only dream of pulling a UFO SR one day. Crazy there’s still some beasties out there yet to be pulled.
@@PeteDorrTCG absolutely. I ordered another UFO box just recently as well. Just completed the comic collection as well, waiting for the whole book to come out. CH 1 and 2 both print 1 and print 2 then ch 3 and 4 print one. They will be off to cgc before too long. My kids and I are working on the gameplay aspect of it as well with structure decks. It is far more complicated than playing something like pokemon. Lol.

500th subscriber! (flex emoji here, im on pc lol)... This was a great refresher. I started collecting last year ,2 months after you did . Love it!.. Been trading my pokemon stuff for it.
First off: very informative! This is good content, you do a great of explaining everything. I bought a mystery pack at Walmart with 3 boosters. They're neat to look at, I just don't know much about them. But I'm really skeptical about how successful these will be from an investment standpoint. The only people buying these right now are flippers/F.O.M.O.-mofos/investors. Children aren't running to the stores and demanding these for birthdays or Christmas. This game will never be the next Pokémon, MTG, or Yu-gi-oh I don't think. But there is somethimg appealing about them, especially for American and Canadian kids since we hear the stories about these cryptids. I'll try and pick some more up soon.
Hey thanks for watching. I think this year and early next year will be the decisive turning point for MetaZoo. It will be way more than just a TCG. Once the game(s) start releasing, animated shorts/show, books, toys (coming soon actually!), I think the IP will really start picking up steam for the TCG. It is true the game is currently not reaching a market for children, but I think in time it will get there as it develops a solid base of more adult collectors and players that can carry them until the point where they begin marketing to children. Also in regards to investment, the market is a bit saturated right now on most sets because they have stated they do not plan on doing more print runs of all current and older sets, this way when the IP takes off and introduces itself to tons of new fans the existing product will get snatched up and a very healthy secondary market will begin to exist. This day and age all it takes is one big influencer to make a video about a brand like MetaZoo and it can just snowball from there. I think I will make a video on all of what I talked about here at some point to better convey my thoughts.

I remember seeing a few TH-cam videos about metazoo, 2 years ago and then kohdok made a video last year that basically led me to believe the game was going to die out.

Ya you have to buy from trusted sellers or buy the case to avoid the mapped seance but I’m sure they are fixing it.
The pull rates for hateful 8 were very tough. I personally like it because it’s makes it more rare.

A seance Sunken Skeletons card numbered to 20. Got it from a blister pack (the pull is recorded in one of my videos, look for the thumbnail showing the serial number 15/20)

I have only purchased a few booster boxes and a couple of spellbooks to date, but every time I look online trying to purchase a single card I'd like, I find it is only available slabbed and incredibly expensive. Is there any reliable source for ungraded cards for people who might just like to put them in binders or, dare I suggest, play with them?
This 1st edition has crashed to below $200 over the past couple months. What's going on? Did they print more or is MetaZoo kinda just falling out? I don't collect it because the red border is absolutely godawful and ruins the cards, but interesting for people that enjoy it.
Metazoo is crashing hard right now. Lots of issues going on with the management and people are leaving. I made a video a few weeks ago talking about the problems but a lot has happened since then. Hoping it can recover, but not looking good.

I'm assuming this all started getting light with that ridiculous box they released recently that was like $250 or something nuts that you can get for $50 now? I remember hearing about some kinda drama with the owner.. several times actually. Kinda sucks, always nice to have popular tcgs on the market instead of the usual big 2-3.

It’s the most divisive feature of MetaZoo by far. It’s a love or hate art style, doesn’t seem to be an in-between for people.
Also dude recommending a card game he admits he doesn't know how to play, meaning we have no idea if the game is even fun.

Metazoo has been "picking up steam" for years, and the only people who tell you that are sucking down copium trying to justify their purchase of a card game with little to no traction outside of an echo chamber of content creators. This game has no name recognition to the general public and that will always be the case
