Laos-China Railway Train from Luang Prabang to Oudomxay

A collection of short video clips taken from the Laos-China Railway's higher-speed rail (HSR) service from Luang Prabang to Oudomxay (Muang Xay). the route goes through the mountains, thus much of the journey is through tunnels and sections of high reinforced embankments broken up by brief views of lush picturesque mountains, upland rice ('dry rice') paddies and the occasional village or town. The rail line runs from Vientaine to Boten and was opened on 3 December 2021.

The travel time was about 46 minutes, with the one-way ticket (Train # C86, 09:33 departure) costing 222,000 Kips (about US $10.70). From downtown Luang Prabang (Cold River Hotel, near the Nam Khan River) to the Luang Prabang train station it was about 8km/20 minutes by car, with the travel time from the Oudomxay train station to downtown Oudomxay (Charming Laos Hotel, near the Road #2E.Road #13 intersection), it was about 3.5km/10 minutes by car.
