Great perspective, Corbin! Embracing AI in coding is a game-changer. Your advice about starting with an IDE and choosing an AI model wisely while focusing on passion over money is spot on!
Corbin, your take is spot on. Coding with AI and focusing on architecture is the new normal. Appreciate your honesty about passion over quick bucks. Thoughts on the future of AI in coding?
I’m not a coder. I’m just beginning to learn. I have used Ai to set up a nvidia graphics card as a second gpu that is dedicated to Ai work. This weekend, we ran an Ai generated graphic project. There were issues with the installation of the nvidia support for cuda and it was a little frustrating, but it worked. I built the computer from parts so I’m at least a little tech savvy. I’ve already got a step by step layout for an Ai assistant application for supporting field technical personnel. It is phone deployable for support of specific electronics products. The estimated timeline is about 2months in my spare time and weekends. It’s exciting. I wouldn’t have believed it. I’m in my late 50’s and I don’t know how to touch type. It’s like a science fiction story.
Great take, Corbin! Agree AI is a game changer in coding. True passion drives success, not just money. Your transparency and honesty are refreshing and inspiring. Thanks for sharing your journey and honest advice!
Great insights, Corbin! Starting with an IDE like VS Code and integrating models like ChatGPT for backend logic is a smart strategy. Passion really fuels success.
I literally started caring about software when I decided to go fully into algorithmic trading. I know how hard software can be, I wouldn’t say I am the most passionate developer but I actually enjoy the grind honestly. Thats it, I dont care how hard it is because when things are hard it actually means its easy. Lol if that makes sense
Corbin, thank you for creating this channel, I like your content, but I love how you approach teaching, not BSing people. Real G. I'm 37 years old btw, and I know I would enjoy it even more if I had an opportunity to continue learning from you. I purchased the Bumpups plan just to support your work, I don't really have a value from it, yet. Not because of the software but because that is not something I use right now. Please keep making this incredibly valuable content. Thank you!
I've thought of many ideas in the past but with these AI agents, it's really mind-blowing to see this all come together. The regular person with zero experience will be able to make websites, generate workflows and essentially automate everything in the coming future with AGI. Like Sam Altman said... "Everyone is waiting on the next Billion dollar company that's entirely ran by 1 person." How fast things are moving, we might see this happen faster then we think
i really doubt it and it seems as time passes by ai is quite capable and might actually replace coders. despite that, i am still studying cs and doing it already by habit in the hope of transferring skills somewhere else because i don't know any better
If you can get a job. There are no signs of the job market improving any time soon. Self-taught candidates, boot camp graduates, and anyone who does not have experience and/or a CS degree....good luck with that!
Love it Corbin, and love these more mindset type videos. You are so right the AI space and this niche is absolutely littered with grifters atm. So many build a $10M app in 40mins or top 10 AI apps that are GAME CHANGING. Smh
I am about to graduate. Don't have a job yet. How can I know how much i know. My interview experience so far has been that i pass the technical tests and interviews but have hard time in hr rounds.
Hi Corbin, the automatic dubbing of your videos is a nightmare because I can't deactivate it. As I am in the French part of Switzerland, I am getting a French voiceover, which I do not need...Any chance you would consider removing this feature? Cheers from Switzerland 😊
Hey! Thank you for letting me know this. This is a new feature by TH-cam. From my understanding, there is an option called "Audio track" that will let you switch the language in the video settings. Let me know, though, if this does not appear.
I love Claude; but not I use o1 pro mode to code review my Claude code. I’m not a coder by the way. I’m a builder. I only started building apps 6 months ago. There are no limits to this now.
I disagree with the first part. relying on AI , for a beginner will do three things : 1) Abstract important concepts , the concepts you're supposed to spend hours and hours and hours debugging and trying to understand 2) Create sub optimal solutions without you knowing it is sub optimal. 3) Will atrophy thinking skills. If you're a beginner and serious about software engineering , do NOT , I repeat , DO NOT use AI to generate code or debug code. You will hurt yourself in your learning in ways you're not even going to be aware of. AI isn't magic... it's magic for people who only do react JS all day , and those people who represent the majority of today's developers are under the dunning kruger effect , thinking it's the same for the rest of the field. if AI fucks up , no amount of prompting will help if you don't know how to solve the underlying problem. And if you only know how to prompt an AI , this problem will be unsolvable for you.
When o4 releases (mini version of it) coders will not be needed. The reasoning models scale well and seems to become very good at coding and fast. Look at o3 mini scores.

Same with music! People get in for the money, then quit when it gets boring.
Do what you love!
Loved your insights, Corbin. AI in coding really changes the game. Dedication and passion are essential. Keep up the great content!
You are so on point Corbin - every time. Claude is good because it can show you (visually/code) at the $20 price point.
Keep crushing it, Corbin!

You really make a very good videos ! Thanks man
Everything you're saying is right on!
most people are giving up on coding out of fear of AI, but the ones who stick with it, will get rewarded even more later. AI can only go so far.
