Marshall Valvestate 65R and Les Paul Studio

Alright, so I just bought this amp from eBay. It's the same kind of amp I had during my high school days in the 90s, so I guess I got a bit nostalgic... It's 65 watts, very loud, and there's a valve in the preamp, hence the name. I had two of these back in the day and they both kinda crapped out on me, so hope this one fares better (though the reverb doesn't work :(...)
So, basically what I'm doin here is just havin fun and trying to relearn/explore the different sounds this amp has to offer. And since I'm playing with my '94 Les Paul (Swan) Studio, I thought I'd go totally 90s and do a medley of sorts of songs from my two bands at that time, Atticus and Blind Side. With a bit of Zep thrown in at the end for good measure...
p.s. There's no stomp boxes here, just the channel footswitch and a smidge of reverb added in the mix afterwards. Straight thru a Shure SM57 into a Protools mbox. Enjoy.

Been playing mine for sixteen years now. Blown the speaker ones to, got a celestion in it now. Sounds warmer then with the marshall gold series element.

Nice demo! I used to play through a buddy's similar amp but the 2x12" version and we played gigs around town with it. Worked pretty well but then developed a kind of loose connection issue, where it would work ok for awhile but then start cutting out. Once you let it rest for awhile it would start working again. Not sure if he ever got it fixed.

The tone width of these amps are very well designed. From the harsh and high to the warm and middle to the deep and full, iit keeps a wide spectrum of expression. I have a valve state that's 80 watts and its been a full range type of amp. It keeps the want to explore up and running because it can meet any pedal or any genre of music up right and moving forward. from country twang to deep and shred to mothers apple pie with a kick.

I own one of these too.I love it. That gain control really gets down and dirrrrrrty. I got a 97 anniversary model with blue covering and gold Marshall lettering and a little plaque. I use it for gigging as well as home. I use the output to whatever amp is available at the venue.I have used so many amps over a 25 year period and its what I have settled on. It gives me every sound I need. Nice playing. You did a good job at showing what it can do :-)

Hi i have a question about the footswitch.How does it work?If I press mine it doesn't switch between the 2 channels unless I first press the button on the amplifier and than I can switch between clean and overdrive.

It has a single 12ax7 in the preamp and the power section is all solid state.
