I'm French and have been living in the UK for the past 8 years. Believe me if you're poor / have a serious health condition, you are much better living in France than in the UK. Even if these migrants reach Britain things will be tough. They believe in an utopia.

vincent, i left the UK a few days ago. In France i destroyed my passport, and later today I will get into a small boat to leave for the UK. I have changed my name to Omar X. After i sneak back on the boat, the UK Immigration Officers will put me up in a Hotel (4 Star) and the Government will give me £49.50 each week.
I will live in the free hotel for a year or two as i wait for a free flat/home. During that time i will not have to pay for TV license or water bills/ electricity bills. I will eat 3 free meals served to me each day in the hotel, as i access the free WI-Fi on my i-Phone 6.

+pstephen72 Neither were Turkey, Greece and the list goes on.
They didn't just teleport from Syria to Calais. They had to travel accross several countries to come here, first of them was Turkey.
The EU should send them back to Turkey. After all:
1/ Turkey created this crisis since they've been supporting ISIS for years
2/ Turks are now mostly islamist lowlifes too. Since Erdogan jailed the generals that protected Turkey's secularism Turkey has become a less braindead Saudi Arabia. A perfect place for the sunni "refugees" from Syria.

I'm all for helping fellow human beings, if they WANT help. Most of these people don't seem to want help however. The introduction almost made me sick with the girl in pink saying, it would've been better to have been killed by ISIS, than to have come to Europe, a safe environment...... Maybe we should deport them, and let them have their wish. Though ISIS probably wouldn't kill her initially....
We can't just drop everything we're doing, ignore the entire economy, peoples lives and jobs, to stop and listen to their demands. It seems like every step of the way, the countries DO try to help in one way or another, but they refuse and riot, then are surprised why they get surrounded by fences? They don't seem to understand the countries they're entering, aren't a complete shithole, so yes, there is alot of paperwork, alot of organization that must take place, and due process to make sure everything can be settled correctly. You can't just let a huge flow of people to trample through your cities, wrecking everything along the way, getting misplaced here and there... it's that kind of behavior that let their home countries to become absolute shitholes in the first place.......
What hurts even more, alot of these people have children, babies even, that truly need somewhere to stay. But that's just it, they're already in a safe environment, but they keep on demanding more and more, ignoring their childrens safety to continue in hopes for more.... They've escaped a warzone and chaos.... and yet they're making greedy demands? Are you serious?

  • @jodawgsup
    @jodawgsup 9 ปีที่แล้ว +2

Honestly. I get it. War is horrible and you need to flee, and we as a Europe, with western values which are far superior than in any islamic country, need to give you a place to be.
This is understandable and is something we ought to do.
What you CANNOT do, as a refugee, is make these bold claims of wanting to go to England because of the system in place for those impoverished (the same goes for the whole of Scandinavia, basically). This is having a utopian dream, that you can simply NOT afford to have as a refugee. Be respectful towards those trying to help you, even though it might be badly organised and handled at times.
Remember that your army has tried to kill you, that your leaders have tried to kill you, and that your so called brethren from your home country are trying to kill you. If you reckon it is better being killed than being welcomed in a western, civilised country, you can go elsewhere.

I find it absurd that a child at that age said it would have been better if she was killed by IS than to be in that jungle. Of course that jungle is not fit for animals let alone humans to live, however if they have been offered asylum in France I cannot see why they didn't accept it. I know France is not perfect, so it is not Britain. Sometimes governments have to be a bit more assertive with people who act like that. Give them two options either you accept to live in France or you all be removed from Calais and sent back to the refugee camp in Syria.

In order to live there they have to register with the local authorities. So far, the shelter remains totally vacant!! Now there's a surprise!

Why do all the refugees seem to be under the impression that the UK is some utopia. Having been to a handful of countries around Europe, sure the cultures are kinda different, but they're in for disappointment if they honestly think it's worth dying for trying to get to. Considering they've already made it to France, it seems odd, unless they're just hoping to get on the dole..

thatsnotagoodidea These are economic migrants just looking for money. France doesn't lack benefits, France actually wants these people to join the work force instead of giving them free stuff. The UK will just hand out free money, all they have to do is apply for welfare and they almost certainly will get it.

The child in the pink sweatshirt is amazingly articulate and I wish I could help her and her family. To rather die at her age is senseless; but she has seen war. Where is the humanity? There are bad people all over, but there are good people all over. My grandmother migrated with my mother to the USA and had a family sponsor who my grandfather visited weekly until his untimely death. A family sponsor looked out for the new migrant family. Yes, there are cruel people who themselves are entitled by the luck of being born in a good country. I am sorry, no child should have to live like that. The WWII DP camps were better than this in German after WWII. This is a disgrace. Children should not have to live like this, especially children who just want a life. The comments are disturbing, to think such heartless non empathetic people live among me.

Goddamn biased report about people who are mainly deserters from their respective force, like the first guy they interviewed - he fucking RAN from his service to protect Kurdistan against ISIS!
I understand if non-combatants run, like women and children, but seeing grown, healthy men in refugee camps just pisses me off.

I don´t disagree with most of the comments here. But I have such a tremendious respect for the kurds who actually fought IS. The wounded and their families should be welcome here.

Ya it sucks and i do feel for these people and think we should help them but what did they think was going to happen. They're coming in the millions to places that welcomed them with open arms. Abandoning your own country and expecting everyone else to just give you everything on a silver platter. Life doesn't work that way.

I understand the problem of mass migration and the burden on the society that has to care for the refugees. Also there is no doubt that many of the people grew up and live a different culture than in the nation they want to go to and a small minority have a really bad mentality on women or respect for the law. Still I do not understand why the hostility towards the vast majority of these people who legitimately flee from incredible violence and bigotry.

Also, there should at least be classes offering french lessons, to help integrate them a little better...
