Hi there Mark, a great looking Subaru rally body set. Having those light buckets and them being already chrome plated, is such a bonus. I rally like the decal sheets too, so, so nice to have them pre-cut too. You’re going to have a great time in the spray greenhouse. An awesome talk through and unveiling. Take care and best wishes to you all 😊😊
Hello John! Yes one of the reasons I went for this body set is the chromed light fittings, so much better than stickers! And I will save 3 hours of my life NOT cutting out the decals!!! It might be a while before I spray this one as the weather is so bad again! Take care too my friend! 😉👌😎👍
Thanks dude! Yeah, I reckon this will look awesome when finished with all the LEDs blazing! And definitely, I'm getting a lot of prep done while it's raining! Cheers!👍
Nice one, Mark! And it's a great teaser for an upcoming video series, I'll be looking forward to seeing this, it'll be awesome! Yeah, even though I'm not much of a petrol head, I did follow some rally stuff and I was a big Subaru fan. I remember I had a test drive in an Impreza STI many years ago, but never actually owned one myself. I remember I was appalled when they announced it would become a hatchback, ha ha! Have a great week ahead, mate!
Cheers, Mads! Yep, got a new TT02 rally chassis coming up with some special parts, it's going to be colourful - but not with alloy bling, just some cool Tamiya plastic! Yeah I also had a drive in a Subaru Impreza but never owned one. Lovely cars though mate! I think it was a bad call going to the hatchback, it did terribly in the WRC anyway, it was always breaking down! I hope my 1/10 version doesn't!!! A great week to you too, my friend!
Awesome Mark. Thanks for showing and explaining all the details. I'm rellay curious about the functional lights. "Strange reasons" might be saving weight😉. n the 90s some fellas drilled holes into their chassis for that reason😂
Hi Chris - yes I was exactly the same as you - after all those years of the saloon car versions, this just looked wrong! All these years later it looks OK! Cheers, mate! 😉👌👍
You've got a Ice Subaru collection Mark!👌, I think that's my favourite of the body styling from Tamiya. Looking forward to seeing it finished mate👍. The chrome headlight buckets are such a cool addition to the kit, it's going to look awesome!. Thanks for sharing the video Cobber👍🦘🇦🇺
Thanks Cobber! Yeah, I hope to get all the Subaru Tamiya bodies eventually! Too right, I'm looking forward to getting this new one sprayed up in a really bright metallic blue and getting all those LEDs installed! Cheers mate! 🙏😎👍
That's what all the girls say, Rob! 🤣😜 Oh yeah, I forgot to mention the precut masks, even less cutting for me to do! Deffo matey, those two Scoobies are gonna look awesome together, can't wait! All the best my good friend! 😎👌👍
I like them all Mark, but the hatch back is my favorite aesthetically. Love that you get those light buckets instead of decals only. I’m excited to see how this handles your track in the valley. Take care my friend!👊🏼🙌🏼😎
Same here, Robby, they are a classy bunch of rally cars! Yep i got a set of 12 LEDs for those light buckets, should light up the road! I've got a TT02 rally chassis project lined up for this beauty! Take care too, buddy! 😎👍
Awesome looking bodies. Another favorite body style of mine. Got to say this new one looks amazing. I bet this will be a great looking rig when you're done. :)
I totally agree, Nick! There is something timeless about the Subaru rally bodies, and the blue is my favourite colour! Hope I can do it justice my friend, I do have a full set of LEDs to go in those light buckets! Cheers! 😎👍👌
MR Bryan, the official Scooby doo aficionado! Some lovely looking shells there matey. 👌 That scooby blue is such an awesome colour. 1999 one is still my favourite, and that cockpit is delightful..... I'm sure I remember your video on doing that cockpit many moons ago? I will never forget the night my mate psycho Mike took me out in his 1/1 99 scooby..... He was telling me how it handled like it was on rails in comparison to his previous BMW M3. While showing off he pushed it a little too hard around a roundabout and we ended up wedged in Lo-costs supermarket fence!!!! 🙄😬 We were a meter off the ground and couldn't even open the doors to get out!! All we could do was wait in the car until the old bill turned up! 🤣 At least with the rc versions our driving licenses are safe! 😉 👍 👍 👍
Hiya James! Oh you know I love my Scoobies! I'm doing this in a brighter shade of blue, Rob has the same body so we need to tell them apart! Oh, that cockpit you saw was for the Lancia, I think, this is one reclaimed from my old Escort Turbo... Haha, funny story about the Scoobie crash, always goes wrong when showing off to a friend!!! Hope you didn't get arrested mate! Yeah we can get away with dangerous driving in a 1/10 car! Cheers! 😉👌👍
@@MarkBryanRC Ah the Lancia eh.... Yeah, I really enjoyed that cockpit video mate, I watched it a few times before attacking my 959 and celica cock pits! No, we didn't get arrested (the car was all legal)!! They were actually very decent coppers (for a change!)..... as they pulled up in their Peugeot 309 they wound down their window and laughed at us wedged into the fence pannel and said " Ha ha, he thinks he's Collin Mcrae!!" 😂 🤣 You used to be able to get away with a lot more back then than you can now. 👍 👍 👍 👍
Tamiya really do some awesome body sets, and this one is no exception, it looks superb! And the inclusion of proper light buckets, as well as pre-cut decals/stickers, is an added bonus. I don't think I'd put it on a TT02 though, I'd find something decent😂😂 Seriously though, I can't wait to see the finished project👍👍
Hi Barry! Yeah agreed, this is one of Tamiya's better body sets. I've got a set of 12 LEDs to go with it so it should look cool 😎! Haha, yeah the TT02 might be lacking but I've got some special parts to come! It might just go on my XV01 though! Thanks for the great comment and all the best from Mark 👍 😀
Brilliant video Mark! Love those window decals on this model! Is this a new Tamiya body set as I have never seen smoked decals before or pre cut ones! Very cool!
Hi there Craig! Yeah, Tamiya should do more of these window decals. Also the lazer pre-cut is bloody cool! That's 3 hours of my life I won't have to waste! Cheers, buddy! 😉👌👍
Hiya mate. Looks like a great body set. Always good to get the light buckets. My Subaru Impreza shell looks like the second one you showed and it did come with the chromed light buckets. I guess they do different versions for different amounts of cash. Does look loads better than stickers. Have fun with that my friend. Best wishes 😁👍
Hiya Pete! Yeah the light buckets will be put to good use, I got a set of 12 LEDs for them! I think the other Tamiya Subaru body with light buckets is the 2007 version, they do look similar. Only one version of each body as far as I'm aware. Anyways it's gonna look good with a bit of luck! All the best, matey! 😉😎👍
😜Oh yeah, I am very lazy my friend! But seriously, the lazer cut stickers are so neatly cut it should make the body job so much easier and better! I'm looking forward to this one too! Cheers! 😉👌👍
Didn’t know about the logo mate . Very cool . I’ve got the Mexico shell but as luck would have it I went with Solberg . Precut rules . Great stuff . Are you gonna get the McRae subaru and the legacy ?
Hi Dom. Yeah, fag packet liveries were actually the best in my opinion! 🤣 These are actually precut right close to the actual logo's, unlike some that come with that clear bit surrounding the logo - bloody excellent these are! Oh yes mate, I intend to get all the Subaru bodies. Cheers! 🙏😜👍
Did a perfect job of my lunchbox body. But left it in the conservatory and didnt realize that one of them timed airfresheners was srpaying down on it! Took the Tamiya paint from it and made it all sticky and even frosted my moon roof glass! Oh well suppose its gunna get beat up so no worrys. Atleast with a hard shell i can start again at some point. She smells nice doh :)
Hi Shelly! Oh dear, a paint job ruined by an air freshener - never heard of that before! Good point about being able to easily respray a hard body though. Haha, smells nice! 🤣👍😜
They sure do, Mal! Same here, that Burns car is my fave too. Agreed, not the same without the fag sponsorship, but it should look cool with what I have planned for it! 😎👌👍
If/when you get around to the 2007 body that too has the pre-smoked window stickers and chromed light buckets. Would be a shame not to have that one too!
Hi there Roger and many thanks for the heads-up on the 2007 body! Oh yes mate, I intend to collect all the Subaru rally bodies from Tamiya! Looks like the 2007 body will be up next! Cheers and many thanks for sharing my video on the forum! 🙏😉👍
Right on mate! No it's not my fave either, that's gotta be the '99. But I think it'll look good out on the tracks, I got a nice colour for it! Cheers, brother! 😎👌👍
Hmm, I wonder if your going to paint it blue...... 3 gens of scooby bodies, how could one not like that? I never knew that about the "stipes" but I don't really follow auto racing or other sports, sure, I watch some racing stuff but I really can't tell you whos who and I'm not religious about it (Monster Trucks and the like I watch but not a full on fan boy). Awesome video mate!!!! ATB to one and all!!!!
Hiya Bob, yeah it certainly will be blue mate, but not PS-16!!! I actually want to get all the Tamiya Scooby bodies. Keeps me busy and cheaper than a new car! I do follow the rally scene when I can, it adds to the interest for me, anyway. Thanks for the kind comments matey, take care! 😎👌👍
Thank you Cat! I think this will look super-cool with all the lights blazing! I will see how much time I get to spend on the artwork, thanks for the support my friend! Cheers! 🙏😎👍
I’m not much on non American cars, (I’m more of a muscle car kind of guy) but I do like the Subaru wrx’s .. they’re fast, easy to work on, and all wheel drive, and they’re cool looking cars
Hi Thad and thanks for the comment! Yeah, I understand why you'd like muscle cars, it's just we don't get 'em over here! But yeah, the Subaru WRX's have a lot going for them! Cheers!
Great comparison and background Mark. This new body is going to be incredible if you can get close to the real one, it looks incredible!
Cheers, Damian! Fingers crossed for the body, I'm going with a slightly different blue, hope it comes out as well as I imagine! 😉😬👍

Great choice of bodyshell that man, and with all this wet weather there's no better time to prep the cars for some quality rally action 👍
