I'm sure we've all been waiting for your first video on your new boat and this is great! I feel your pain when the tarpon throws the hook. Living the dream!
Justin, you should have known that a Snook had to be the 1st on the boat, the frustration is real. Have had those kinda days when nothing comes together. your old habitat paid off, good luck on the next trips. Happy Birthday! you got your present, nice Silver King!
Happy birthday Jm glad your getting to live your dream. I wish I was where your at . At the age of 25. Keep on conquering life. Hard work pays off. Your proof
Hell yea great content and great fishing bro. Much love to ya from Maryland❤❤❤ where u need to come fishing at as well. Some good waters here for sure bro
Some great opportunities tho. 90% of the challenge is getting hooked up with tarpon. Nice job. Keeping the drag more loose in the beginning of the fight will help them not throw you hook as often. I noticed you kept making it tighter. You’re in a boat. You can just chase them down if they take too much line. When they jump you want them to pull drag, but when you hear the tink tink tink, it’s too tight = break or thrown hook. Keep up the good content brother. Makes me jealous I’m not on the east coast. Happy birthday!
hey justin your doing pretty damn good at this inshore fishing and just fishing career in general my recomendation to you when tarpon fishing is to chase the fish down with you boat after you hook them either with trolling motor or with a buddy who can drive but you seem to have no problem doing the first part love watching your videos keep up the great work
Happy belated birthday man and this was a great video and you will get that big tarpon one day just enjoy fishing and snook? And a question what are good hook for snook and redfish? And what are good size pinfish as well
Pro tip: put your trolling motor remote inside your shirt. It keeps from the remote getting in the way of your hands while fishing. Keep up the good work. I would like for you to show me your secrets!
if you just loosen that drag a bit and get that hook set once or twice and bow more you’ll have these fish for sure i used to do the same stuff before i figured out it’s the minor things that make a big difference i slay them now.
Why does the spinning reel drag sound like that, is it normal? Bc it sounds bad I love that Evo!! And you’re shooting/editing is really good! The winds have been wicked here in Brevard lately.
@strerlingbuilds7140 @rj_elite22 J is kinda in an odd position w this comment but tbh if you rewatch all the fish losses that pen drag was SO SO SO sticky. That’s why all the Australian Gt Fishing TH-camrs use shimano or Diawa. His drag was fine and he was just tight enough on those fish. It’s just when you get into that caliber of fish you HAVE to have a super smooth drag system.
@@SEEK4EMI’ve caught plenty of tarpon and hooked a bunch on staals and their drag is known to be sticky, I run extremely tight and I’ve had a few throw the bait and pull hook but it’s definitely not from the drag being too sticky it’s mainly just bad hook sets
Hey Justin just a friendly tip when it comes to Tarpon fishing. Leave your fly rod at home. Bring a good stout rod with a 4500 Slammer Penn reel and some big/medium pinfish with 30lb braid and 30/40 fluoro leader and some 6/0 Owner offset Octopus hooks. Dont screw around. Throw that pinfish right in front of those big 100lb pigs and hold on! I have caught 7 so far this year over 100lbs using this same technique. If ya want to catch the giants…..this is the way!🤘😎
Certainly not an expert, but you gotta two hand strip to maintain constant contact to the fly and you gotta make sure your rod is pointed directly at the line
I like the new whip. But outside the channels is a different ball game. Idk about you but I have the worst luck woth circle hooks. I've been using them alotnlately and I just feel like I lose more fish. Could be wrong🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Dude you are pressing your luck holding fish in water letting them go with your hands in the water they are Bull shark's have you seen the video where the dude was just washing his hands and a sharks grabbed him and pulled him in ? If his buddy wasn't there he wouldn't be alive today .
Ladies and Gentlemen the king of inshore on youtube... the boat is amazing, congrats. Happy Birthday!
I'm sure we've all been waiting for your first video on your new boat and this is great!

Happy Birthday, and congrats on the new boat!!
ITS FINALLY HERE!!! And happy belated birthday Justin!
You can’t get the full effect of jumping a big tarpon until you actually do it. An amazing sport fish, especially on fly. Happy Birthday.
Glad to see your out farther great video
Happy birthday the best fishing TH-camr
Awesome videos man!! We’re just starting out recording videos in our spare time !! Definitely gives me some motivation to step up my videos!

Kevin builds an awesome boat. Sure I'll see out on the water and check it out
The beginning of this video reminds me of OG Jm fishing. I got hooked on the channel watching him land big tarpon
Nice work bud
Keep that drag tight lil bro.
There’s nothing worse than the “ TH-cam Drag” 😎
Its a tarpon, lil bro.
Happy birthday man
Gotta appreciate the effort to catch a Tarpon for the first boat catch ✊🏼
Congrats on the new boat Capt. How much would it set back the average Joe?
Happy bday bro
Man I gotta get a boat. Yeah you don’t need one to fish but it helps lol. And happy late bday
Happy for a proper boat
Awesome love your videos I'm in Kissimmee Florida
hell yea new vid 😎
The skip under the dock cast is 💰
Saw the new boat at jetty park tagged you 🔥
Just a tip I’ve found that the bigger poons stay glued a lot better with a j hook rather than a circle
I hate when the tarpon aren’t biting and one finally decides to go for it and they miss. Total heartbreak
happy birthday
yoooo finally
Totally!! My husband and I were starting to worry! 😂
@@LindaMiller-zv4uoi’ve been dying to see him catch some fish on his new boat
wish I had a boat like that
Great epic video man whats ur rod and reel setup?
Happy belated birthday man and this was a great video and you will get that big tarpon one day just enjoy fishing and snook? And a question what are good hook for snook and redfish? And what are good size pinfish as well
Flip Pallot lives in Mims, he is the master at foy fishing. You should reach out to him. Incredible amount of knowledge can be picked up from him.
I’m sure he knows who flip pallet is. Every tarpon fishing does
Classic trout set… so hard to not lose your sh*t when a fish that big eats a feather 😂
I was happy with that as we’ll.
Pro tip: put your trolling motor remote inside your shirt. It keeps from the remote getting in the way of your hands while fishing.
Keep up the good work. I would like for you to show me your secrets!
Thats not a pro tip its common sense im sure if it gets in his way he will put it in his shirt😆😆😆😆
Guessing the boat didn't come with a landing net??? Nice tarpon action!
@@colesheehan9929Ok but for snook and reds it would be useful
Would recommend a two hand strip on the poonz. Has upped my ratio for sure
Great catches but if I spent that much time bringing in a fish in Flamingo, sharks would have had their fill!!
Saw tarpon rolling in the IRL couple weeks ago.
if you just loosen that drag a bit and get that hook set once or twice and bow more you’ll have these fish for sure i used to do the same stuff before i figured out it’s the minor things that make a big difference i slay them now.
use thick wire j hooks too and set the hook 2 3 4 times you have to bury the hook in these fish or you just gunna loose them over and over
I had this issue before…can’t keep em stuck…..I changed to trokar 8/0 and doubled my catch……love to fly a tarpon ..be safe out there
Why does the spinning reel drag sound like that, is it normal? Bc it sounds bad
I love that Evo!! And you’re shooting/editing is really good! The winds have been wicked here in Brevard lately.
Penns are shit reels that’s why it sounds like dog shit
Do more fly videos!
Dude watching another fisherman do like that the first part of the video is tuff
What weight NLBNs do you typically like to use
Call me crazy but seems like your drag was too tight on those fish you lost
You kinda have to run a little tight with tarpon but he is a professional he knows.
@strerlingbuilds7140 @rj_elite22

@@ryderfishing1322 your right man , you got it …
It’s tarpon fishin. If anyone says they catch every poon they hook they’re a damn lie.
If i may ask, which side of the state and where approx are you fishing. South east fla???
What size hook are you using for the tarpon
When you were on the water watching the rocket I was also on the water at the same time on our boat, at the port were you were
What rod are you ising

I guarantee he knows this. I started watching the channel years ago because of his big tarpons
🔥 vid. Did u get sponsored by east cape and get the boat for free, or a big chynk of money off?my buddies and i were all wondering.
Certainly not an expert, but you gotta two hand strip to maintain constant contact to the fly and you gotta make sure your rod is pointed directly at the line
My birthday was Aug. 9th bro, when was yours?
This doesn’t happen on the gheenoe… no tarpon will escape 😂

More fly fishing unc
Watch some of Andy Mills tarpon fighting videos, and learning to properly pull on em with a fly rod has really helped me these last few seasons
Bro please don’t tighten your drag so tight! Let em take it, let em play. Tarpon fight hard and get tired out
Id rather lose a tarpon trying to land him in 20 minutes than play one 2 hours and kill it
ngl man i know you’re sponsored by penn but every penn i’ve owned and the one in the vid as well get sooo sticky. just a thought it might be that drag
Play with loose drag bro want loose as many just make sure you got 400 yards of line
First🎉
Plz don't change into a fly guy
pls do
Does this guy reply back to his comments anybody

Try the 2 handed stripping method
Looked like your fly knot broke or simply just not enough tension for a hook set obviously you know tarpon and hooksets most important
.
Please reply back when you have a chance please
