I know this is an old video, but I just wanted to say a HUGE thank you. The magnet push over trick completely saved our machine - I had just about given up and was ready to buy a new one as I was fed up of it not lifting it's carriage high enough. I'm not sure how long this fix will last but for now you're an absolute saviour! It worked on a GCC Expert II-24 (they're very similar)
Hi Keith, Thank you for the awesome news! I am glad that one of my videos has made a difference and that means a lot to me. Normally that adjustment should last you for a very long time. I would like to place "It worked on a GCC Expert II-24 (they're very similar)" in the video description as well along with your name. Then it can also be shared both in the comments and description too. Take care and I really appreciate the feedback. :)
@@TheWorkBench No worries at all - go for it! It was impossible to find any help with the GCC so I'm glad I found your video. Tagging it may help others! The GCC expert is very slightly different looks-wise to the Laserpoint but following the same logic worked! It later reverted back to it's old ways, but after another little shuffle over with a screwdriver - it's lifting it's carriage happily! It was almost like the motor was trying to go up and down at a bad angle and therefore getting too much resistance to move freely. How they get into these positions by themselves is beyond me! Anywho, we're happy!
Hi Ankit, I am sorry for the late reply. There are a few possibilities that I can think of at this point. One is that the carriage, as you see in the video is not properly lined up inside itself and is causing the arm not to fully move up and down. The next issue is that the carriage cable is loose, come undone, worn on the top where the ribbon moves back and forth underneath the top. It could have also come loose. I have seen the red or black wiring to the carriage electromagnet break off also causing the carriage not to move up and down. The pressure on the cutter may be fine but in the cutting software the pressure may be too low and that the software is controlling the pressure instead. What si the cutter that you have? Were you able to find the issue?
