Remember taking my oath at Logan Airport, Boston. a group of 7 guys.
Kyle, while at Kadena AFB 1968-69, we referred to Okinawa as being, "on the rock"!! Was that term relevant during your stay? It wasn't part of Japan than and visiting any kind of Bar, off base was OK, as long as the proper "A" rating was displayed above the door!! There was some seedy places, back then!!

Mine didnt either. They tell you at MEPS that you can choose, but they usually say whichever they want when doing it with everyone else

You should say one or the other, not both. Basically you choose the wording you prefer when swearing the oath or making a solemn affirmation.
