The green scenery at Percé Rock and Bonaventure Island is stunning, the beauty is indescribable. I was impressed to see the Migratory Bird Sanctuaries in Quebec, Canada, so many migratory birds there, what an incredible sight.

Good morning Ivor and Robert hope you have both had a good week. We can certainly see why you considered this a highlight of your tour . You were lucky to miss the heavy rain . The shots of the island and birds from the boat are fantastic. Whilst the birds are an amazing sight in such numbers I can't say I like the sound of them perhaps it is the likeness to Alfred Hitchcocks birds 😆 they are certainly a spectacular sight though. Hi Dave & Dawn. We did get time this visit well. The following morning was very different. We had never been so close to so many birds and it was fascinating to watch them. Amazing how they were able to spot their partners in such great flocks. We loved the way they all had their own space seemingly determined by the distance they could reach with their beaks while remaining on their nests. The noise was amazing and yes if the birds had been so minded they could have soon seen us off. I too remember "The Birds" . Here though we never felt threatened. This seems like a trip of a lifetime. I can only imagine how fantastic this feels. Seeing you walking to such remote and beautiful places, it reminds me of my most memorable travel experiences, and the most precious were in places of solitude. Your videos are always unique and so watchable.
Over time we have made many trips like this about 30 of which have been in North America. We just love wandering and exploring the wonderful world upon which we live. Another one that I had to look because I can’t wait to reach it by looking all the ones I haven’t seen yet !🤪 It’s quite special to see you guys there …I have did the same hike on the island 😉 How did you like the smell of all the gannets 🥴🤢 But it sure is worth seeing them . Beautiful capture Ivor and Robert took a nice picture of that gannet in the blue skies 👍🤩 Love your transition with the music . I did this hike during the Covid in august 2020, Hélène was waiting for me knitting at the campground "Chalet camping Nature Ocean"…because of her knee she didn’t want to come so I went alone . The dock in Percé was under reconstruction that summer , I had to go and take the boat at "L’Ance-à-Beaufils" and because of the Covid there was no tour around the island unfortunately…just crossing only . Hi Serge & Helene. Glad you took a look. It is an amazing place. We enjoyed the walk anyway but the Gannet colonies were just something else. We spent quite a while just watching their interactions and enjoying the sounds they were making. The smell was not too bad. I think the wind must have been blowing favourably for us. Sounds like you had a great day on the island. It is a place I would happily return to. Looking back at this old trip it is great to be reminded of so many great sights and it really does make us want to get going again as soon as possible. I only have a week and a half to wait now and am really hoping that this will enable us to resume our wanderings. Best wishes to you and Helene. Ivor & Robert.
We did not spot any Puffins I am sorry to say. We did see some in Iceland a couple of years ago. There are colonies on the Yorkshire Coast about two hours drive from us but we have never been at the right time. We did really enjoy being close up too those Gannets though. It was a brilliant experience.
The yellow plumage on the heads with their white bodies and black wing tips, make the Gannets both so attractive and so distinctive. It was great experiencing the proximity to such numbers.

Just curious as to whether you happened to see any puffins on this adventure in the Gaspe? That is one bird I'd really like to see in the wild.
