- (32) Mei Ah (美亞), like its competitor Universe (寰宇), has a humble beginning as a distributor of VHS and LD, later VCD and DVD, witnessing the revolution of visual storage media in the past 30 years. Established in 1984 by Li Kuo-hsing (李國興), Mei Ah Group step into film production and distribution in mid-1990s, and listed in the Hong Kong stock exchange in 1993. Joe Ma (馬偉豪) has been one of the active directors under the Mei Ah umbrella. Mei Ah also has a subsidiary Brilliant Idea Group (天下電影製作, later renamed as Big Pictures 天下影畫), which itself deserves a separate IDEvolution.

beats me for this rare ident floridianwolf, I can only guess somewhere between 1990-95, the times when video cassettes start to fade out and VCD emerges.
btw I've found another rare ident of Mei Ah Film Production Ltd which features the same fanfare and logotype as this third/fourth one, to be included in a coming episode.
The first logo of Mei Ah has the same music of Kan Lun. P.S. I ground Santiago Reveco Lepe already. another one, I LIKED YOU!

It looks like the logo has ripped off TVB's colour scheme, and the globe-circle from Pan Am.
Here are the scare factors that I will imagine.
Logo 1: Minimal. The synth theme will surprise some people.
Logo 2: Same as Logo 1.
Logo 3: None to Minimal. The orchestral theme is much better than the synth theme in Logos 1 and 2.
Logo 4: Same as Logo 3.
Logo 5: Low.
Logo 6: Minimal to Low.
Logo 7: None to Low.
Logo 8: Minimal, because of the dark background.
Logo 9: None. An impressive logo.
Logo 10: None.
Update: Logos 3 and 4 look same, but Logo 3 is the prototype Logo 4.
Logos 4 and 9 are seen on Mei Ah VCDs and DVDs that my parents own.

This summer upload is amazing, Dire. Keep up the great work and always liked it. By the way, the one Mei Ah from the start has the same theme as Kan Lun Film (H.K.) Company, so are they related or something?
They aren't related at all, just using the same fanfare from the same library. :)
