Format information, has a BCH code for error correction. The data bytes block have Reed Solomon codes for error correction. And that is the main math in the QR codes. There is other too.

well, sorry to say this, but this video is for nothing.... Doesn't explain use of mask in detail, doesn't say, how it is read. What will happen, if i want to store binaryx data containing only 0, there are now 4 white squares everywhere, how i can know, which of them is ending?
