Cavin, your ability to create new content is amazing! I loved this video. I LOVE Azazie!! I’ve been a bridesmaid three times so far, and I’ve used Azazie twice and Birdy Grey once. I want to have a color palette for my bridesmaids to choose from like you did, but within the same brand. But I love the way a palette looks! And the photos you used as examples were amazing!
Azazie recently added a paisley and a floral print to their dress designs. I think I want to give my bridesmaids a few colors from Azazie to choose from-and I might even want one of the prints to be included too! I’ve thought about having the maid of honor in sequins or some other way to stand out…

I had my bridesmaids choose any style of dress they wanted in a particular color from an online store (JJs House). They were able to order either a standard size or custom.

That's so nice! I've never heard of that shop - glad you had a great experience!

Choice two! All of my bridesmaids and I went to Davids bridal, I said it had to be floor length, chiffon, and burgundy, and they picked what they want.

I tried to link a pic to my bridesmaids but it didn't show my comment... I told them the general color scheme (light blue or green) and let them pick whatever outfit they wanted. Two of them got long dresses and my MOH got a pant suit. I was nervous about having such different colors and fabrics together but it looked gorgeous!

That sounds really beautiful! I also love that your MOH got a pant suit :)

Hi Cavin, I’m allowing my bridesmaid to choose their own dresses but one of my bridesmaids is always coming up with options which are too sexy and revealing. My ceremony will be a chapel one. This morning I have sent them an email setting out my clear expectations and offering to take over this aspect if they’re having trouble picking. Any advice on bridesmaids who chooses dresses too sexy and revealing??? 😓

You can just blame it on the church!! Tell her the church has rules that the dress needs to have X length and a more modest neckline. Alternatively, you can let her know the other bridesmaids have chosen higher necklines and you want everyone to look more cohesive for the photos.

For my graduation we chose bridesmaid like dresses ,but we had stipulations : no midriff,no cleavage, minimum 1inch straps,if you have straps you have to have a shawl, and the dress has to touch the floor when you kneel.
Some people didn't get the memo to have a shawl though....
I believe all guests and bridal party should go by classic dress etiquette unless they have specifically been allowed modern,or contemporary dress by the bride. Unfortunately most of the dress ideas for weddings on utube don't seem to go by the dress etiquette 'by the book ' and they recommend cocktail dresses and little black dresses which can be confusing...... Etiquette books from the 40's say street length pastel afternoon dress, long dresses in darker colors are allowed for evening wear.
Maid of honour may wear bridesmaid colors in reverse: such as blue on pink if bridesmaids are in pink on blue. It doesn't forbid guests or bridal party white - it recommends white,silver/gray,or mauve for someone in mourning as an alternative to black. Books written in the last 20-30 years seem to exclude white as upstaging the bride.
I really wish the etiquette commentators online were a little more specific about the difference between classic and other categories...... This may be older, but that's what classic is . If you broach out something classic, then your guests, bridal party needs to know on what specifically, not assume to throw all etiquette out.....
I would love to see someone explain classic..... whether casual, semi formal, formal, times of day as in contrast to modern formal, casual etc. (where black or white may be worn) vs contemporary etc.
Because this may be confusing to many looking it up , laying out a classic etiquette book from the library or vintage book shop may be helpful.
Congratulations, best wishes and much joy regarding your wedding!

My favorite idea for my bridesmaids, is to have them wear convertible dresses. So they can wear them according to there own body type.

Love that! Everyone gets the neckline that flatters them the most :)

Places like Reformation, Nordstrom, Cara Cara, Lulu's (varying price points - but these can obviously be worn at many different events/outings rather than the typical bridesmaid dress).
