Let's not forget Chad here. The best part of this video is whatever he says to Anthony when he mimes 'you bang on drums like this' at the end of this video. Could they be so free, or make such great music, if they weren't such genuine friends?
It's funny how in most of their songs John looks at Flea for a hint of what comes next. I can't imagine the band without them. They're 2 iconic artists.
If you watch the 60 Minutes interview that was released last week with the whole band, John mentions that he always sees the bass as the lead instrument when they are jamming and the guitar comes in only to support.
Jonh Frusciante is one of the best guitarists of the 80s and 90s, but not for his solos, but for his ability to build great riffs, to mute strings, and for his extraordinary sense of rhythm
Id have to say its bigger than that. He's a rare example of a "very close to complete" guitar player, by which i mean he has learned the name of his instrument. Its true name, giving him a hardwired connection to it that allows him to connect with the music and the musicians around him absolutley with no 'thought' getting in the way.
