The Art Institute of Orange County was a Big ol' Scam. This was cool for us at the time though.

- Time warner cable came by our school to show off our student project "The Hunt".
Many of these students in this video were misguided into programs and were setup to fail resulting in a life of student debt. The school misinformed us all and unfortunately ruined a lot of my friends lives.
I remember the president of the school, Gregory J. Marick (who's in the video) popped in during this and had no idea what we were working on, or what he was even talking about. He was clearly there to just advertise for the school and get more people to enroll. There's even a link to the schools enrollment page at 1:20.
Yah I quit college due to the predatory loan process. Starving the colleges and students loan companies might help them reform.
I went there for my education... wonderful. One of the teachers told me to always used Blinn shaders for everything. Ruined my work for years before I realized that was a mistake.
It was a FOR-PROFIT corporation, not really a real art school. There were many, many lawsuits filed against them from students and teachers which they usually squashed with the backing of a big law firm and unlimited funds. Their downfall was when the U.S. Gov investigated them and filed a 11 billion dollar lawsuit for lying about illegal recruitment practices and shady student loan deals. as well as inflating the numbers of students who actually got jobs after graduation. Even their accreditation ACICS turned out to be a front and was shut down.

Yup it's screwed so many of my friends lives up. I'm sorry man. You need to sign up for the borrower defense program like most of us currently are. Try to get that money back and get the loans forgiven! It's not guaranteed, but try!
Most film production and producing colleges are predatory with their stuff now. Its very unfortunate..

I miss aicaoc, some of our teachers like Catherine Stickel, Michael Hanson, Gerry Hampton, Rudy Gardel, Maggie, so many others, were very formative in my career
Totally! Some teachers were awesome. I didn't have any of those teachers, but I heard Hanson was great. The school was a scam though. Predatory to get students to get high loans to pay off at high interest.
Oh man...those names brought back memories. I remember feeling like I was signing away my soul when filling out all those loans. Thank god i really used the degree I got there to success in the field. I learned so much from that school. 20 years later and I am still friends with many I met there.
