I had a Coleman kerosene lander that I acquired in the 1960’s. I went through it, just like any other Coleman lantern and finally got it to run. It was made in the 1920’s. I have no idea what happened to it. Most of my stuff, lik this, was grabbed up by my brother when I was in the Corps. He even got my letter jackets and letter sweaters from my HS days, plus all my records from the ‘50’s and 60’s.

Take a look at some of my older videos, as I have done some on different types of Coleman lanterns, both early and late, Coleman table lamps and also a video on kerosene lanterns. I plan on doing a video about camp stoves, and brand X lanterns at some point also. Thanks for the nice comment and for watching.

I have eight coats of Linseed oil on my new Granfors Small Forest axe. Two more to go. It has been wet, here, too. Thunder boomers this morning.

That lantern is cool. Ive camped an drank a few with those Coleman lanters. We had kerosene lamps as a kid. My parents collected antique ones. But it was always amazing how much light those stockings put out. That one you have has some cool things the others didnt, like the lighter. I like that light. Come on Alabama people give this man a look see, you'll stay around an wont be disappointed.

Wow talk about a score you are lucky someone didn't get it when you first passed by it, it looks new never used, amazing plus huge bonus having all the things with it, usually half that stuff is gone, super nice pick up

I'm working too much, I missed this video. Nice find! While I don't know much about vintage lanterns, If I came across this one, in a wood crate, I'd be hard-pressed to not buy it. Really cool!

The lantern was an excellent find and was very cheap too. A fun day at the meet.

It's hard to beat cheap! It's probably a good thing they don't have, or I don't know about, any meets like this in my area. Ha!

The PNW Coleman collectors club is a small group and usually only have one meet a year in Olympia Wa. In may, on the 27th and 28th, there is going to be a national Coleman met in Longview Wa. You can check it out by going to the International Coleman Collectors Club website if you are interested in lanterns etc.

I am having to wait for my ne GB Scandinavian Forest axe from Amazon. They had to ship it out of Kent in the Peoples Republic of Washington. God only knows when I will get it. Why don’t they store their products on the East Coast. I live 50 miles from their warehouse in Appling, GA. As a Prime member, I usually get most of my stuff in one day. Waiting a week sucks, especially when they get my money almost instantaneous. Thanks for the information on the kerosene lantern. I wish I knew this 60 years ago. I had a gas Coleman with the big cover. It gave more light than the ones with the smaller cover and the big cover protected the lantern in the rain. If you ever camped in the Smokies in the summer then you know it rains every day and night for the most part.

It would be interesting to test a new GB axe against a top notch vintage axe of the same type, to see how they compare. My best vintage axe is a GB double bit export axe from the early 20's. It has the best steel of any axe I have, and cuts and splits the best also. I have some vintage US axes that are a close second, but the GB is the best.

@@mrobsoletesvintagehomestea9156 I have a bevy of True Temper axes from the 70’s and 80’s. They have served me well but I wanted to see how the GB axes were. I put new handles in my True Temper axes about ten years ago and restored them to their original look. My favorite cutting axe is my 4# Dayton style the I bought new in 1971 for about $25 at Smith Hardware in DECATUR, GA. I have a 5# splitting axe, a double bit of Swedish steel, a Boys axe - wall of which I have used to split and cut wood. However the 4# is my favorite. I have beat that sucker to death. I would like a GB felling axe but they are too pricy for my pocketbook.

That is cool. I have always loved the old pump up lanterns. Messing with the mechanics of the lamp is half the fun of staying up late when camping. Never knew they made them for kerosene. Thanks again for sharing your collection of cool stuff!!
