      I’ve seen that clip. I don’t think she was laughing at male suicide. She was laughing at the idea that Parliament doesn’t have the opportunity to discuss male suicide. I still think she was wrong and it’s right for her to clarify matters and apologise for leaving the impression that she was laughing at male suicide. But stating she that she was laughing at male suicide is an unfair claim.

      @@Jo-sp5cpHe always did. Apologizing for something that he did that wasn’t wrong is just cucked himself out to the left and to the dirty smear merchant media. Now that he’s admitted that he did was wrong, even though it wasn’t, they will take it as an opportunity to strike harder and press their attack further when the time comes. It’s literally just more ammo for them. Gestures of grace towards a foe that will never, ever reciprocate, is indistinguishable from an act of submission and capitulation to them. Because it pretty well is.
      Sargon’s talked about this for years.
      We’ve seen numerous examples of why this doesn’t turn out well. This was beyond stupid tactically, and morally nothing more than empty grandstanding to a foe that will only use it the more against him.

    Carl is older, more mature and responsible than he was eight years ago. It's perfectly reasonable in a time where rhetoric has massively increased in hostility and lead to several attacks on and even killing of MPs, that he would want this sort of speech off his conscience. It speaks to his character to apologise. Whether Jess Phillips apologises for the vile things she has said is irrelevant to Carl's apology; it is up to her and speaks to her character if she chooses to do the same.

  • @rashomonsan
    @rashomonsan 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +9

    The apology is it's at very little cost. It's five years after the fact, there's no public pressure to apologise, so there's less sense of having capitulated. Everyone knows there's nothing to apologise for, it was always cynical faux outrage, but we also know that Phillips would bring it up again whenever useful, as she recently did when Truss appeared on LE. The apology takes away a lot of her (and others') power to do that in future, as doing so would make her look increasingly petty.

    In fact she doesn't even care about whether Carl apologises or not because the whole point was to DEFAME him!
    She won when the media {incl. the so-called Right Wing Media such as the Daily Mail and Peter Hitchens} decided to ignore all the context and take the accusation as fact!
    Peter Hitchens was utterly wrong in that discussion with Carl, because his entire argument was premised on Jess Phillips accusation being true!

    Also, the word Incel should be considered sexist and misandrist, because speaking as a Woman, the opposite would be, well, the word is so awful I don't think TH-cam will let me say it, and any Man who does say is, is condemned.
    Some Men struggle when it comes to dating, in fact many Women struggle, we should not shame people for this and label them with insults, also 90% of the time when a Man is referred to as an Incel, it's always assumed, unless the person has openly come out and said it, then it's nobody's business.
    P.S. I have 2 sons, both in their 20's, what they do in the bedroom is not my business, but if anyone referred to them as an Incel, and used it as an insult, I'd lose my temper, we often hear phrases like "stop sexualising Women", well the same rule should apply both ways.

      I actually did some research on it, as I didn't even realize that there were people that would be open about it, and I saw a video on it (I can't share the link), where this young man with his face blurred was talking about his struggles with being an incel, and as Carl said in the above video "we should help these people", because when they don't receive help, get told their toxic etc, who are they going to turn to? They will turn to genuine misogynistic Men, older Men, who will mentor them to be like them.
      But I don't think it's right, to look at someone who is on the Right/Conservative leaning, who possibly has Autism, possibly lacks confidence, and say "your an Incel".
      Speaking as a Woman, the issue we have is filtering, some Women can filter the good from the bad, some can't, so to be impartial I don't think that it's ever right to shame a Women for her past, you could say "she is not my type", but shaming her, that's wrong, and I don't think show's like the Whatever Podcast help Women (despite myself agreeing with what the Men say on it). EDIT: With the ladies on the Whatever Podcast, the Women aren't coming their to be helped or get advice, they are coming on to defend their lifestyle, that's why the show in my opinion doesn't work, the alternative would be an Incel defending that he is an Incel to Men who aren't and is stubborn to take any advice, he's going to get made fun of.

    Well done Carl for being the bigger person, I wouldn't hold my breath for a response let alone an acceptance. She will no doubt be cynical, she was guilty of laughing at male suicide and even during her recent experiences, she just attributes her abuse to being from men only, nothing to do with ideology or anything else.

      Agreed. I don't rate Phillips as a person or a politician. The left have encouraged muslim immigration and tried to manipulate muslims to vote for them. That short lived arrangement is now over. Muslims have their own agenda and the native Brits will come to realise they will not be playing the leading role.

    To be honest, I kind of respect it. In the past I’ve made offensive comments in an attempt to satirize people on the opposite side of a serious issue. The problem is that even if you’re right, you run the risk of alienating people before they’ve had a chance to hear your point.
