  • Despite all the money spent on US healthcare, an astounding number of Americans suffer from chronic illnesses. Yet the political establishment has shown no interest in even discussing the issue. It’s important to understand why.

After World War II, breast-feeding was discouraged. It was considered old-fashioned. Instead, the mothers were encouraged to feed their babies cows milk mixed with Karo syrup. That’s what they called “formula”. Karo syrup is high fructose corn syrup. That’s what I was fed as an infant and toddler until weaned. I have had weight problem my entire life. I am an allopathic physician. I know for sure that in 1955 if my mother knew what I know now there is no way in hell she would’ve fed me that garbage. She was a phenomenal mother who spent her whole life caring for and protecting her children. The fact that she was completely lied to by the medical community is disgusting. I am fairly certain that being fed. high fructose corn syrup as an infant disrupted my fasting insulin level, something I have battled against for 50 years. Shame on them.

We might as well call it unintentional genocide. With the ozenpic mania, nobody is asking why people get obese in the first place. The only question is whether the drug should be state subsidised, price capped or unregulated.

Just like chronic health issues, there are plenty more mundane, yet strongly important problems for lay people. Another highly important thing is how easy it is to lose your house!
The most typical offenders are the HOAs, many are famous for how repressive they are and especially their legal power to seize your house. Let's say they issue a ticket for a petty matter, like forgetting to pick your garden hose and/or tools. But you are away and cannot return home soon. That petty ticket can cost your home.
Please don't ask "Why couldn't you return home soon?", plenty of people are not aware they cooperate with abusive ruling class. We, regular and average people, have no access to legal support for practical matters. Everyone says America is a litigious society, and that colleges produce too many lawyers. Yet, try to get consumer protection and you are all on your own. A simple handyman can abuse the laws and threat you with filing a lien on your house for simply backing off from an agreed service.
All those lawyers everyone talks so much about only want money, many thousands dollars. Almost all only want injury cases. A foreigner visiting America would think this is a nation of idiots when running all the time into big board ads of lawyers asking if you're injured? These ads are visible only in mundane streets and highways, all used by regular people, NOT tourists.

Blame your realtor/NAR for not advising you on the difference & lien risk before purchasing & it was provided at your closing when you're signing away & can't listen to all the information at once.
I am a licensed agent & HOAs get in the way of people gardening or having a small bit of livestock which kept the USA from starvation in the 1920's. They only benefit investors. I try and steer those who want freedom away from them now. You can't change everyone, but you can have informed consent.
This is the reason that the Bible wouldn't allow country land of a families to be lost to debt for longer than a generation. Bc YHWH aka Jesus knew it's generational equity/wealth and possibility of having food without money is integral to relieve human suffering and the foundation for a healthy economy.
We weren't made to have yards full of pesticides and herbicides for Bermuda grass to then have the poisons runoff into our water tables underground.
Also need more individuals buying unincorporated land or filing for land patents.

I was raised to mistrust the government when it comes to nutrition and the medical care system. My mother tried to raise her children in a health lifestyle based on good nutrition. However she did not understand that the government has so much power to formulate what is produced in this country that just basically makes the vast majority of us to be in a state of one or another comorbidity by the time we reach our 40's. When you go out into public you can see it by just observing how many of us are overweight or obese. They say there are people who do not have enough food. I say the overwhelming majority of people do not eat the right food in this country because of the government's subsidies. Yet the medical industry, food industry and the political industry in this country are in control. As a result we as a country are addicted to our way of life, our medical system and dependences on our political system for subsidies to cover up our aliments, sicknesses, and mental illnesses. Eat healthy to live, do not live to eat unhealthy.

Instead I relied on self experimentation and now TH-camrs like Dr. Eric Berg with emphasis on biological nutrition, something most people discourage, but it's my body, and I am discovering it works well when fed properly

Awesome, I'm happy for you! There's something that the medical establishment really doesn't want to admit: That we are nowhere close to having good data on how to improve human health. We have some things that hold true pretty broadly (e.g. smoking is bad for you, exercise is good for you) but there's tremendous diversity in everything else.
Humans are not like rabbits; you can't isolate them and observe everything they eat and determine what is the healthiest. The only time you can get complete data on human diets is in prisons or mental institutions, which are obviously not good proxies for the general human population.
My diet would not be called "healthy" by most people. According to common medical "wisdom", I eat way too much cholesterol and saturated fat. But my blood panel always looks excellent; I'm nowhere near diabetic and my blood cholesterol levels are spot on (I also exercise a ton, so that might be it).
My point is that there's rarely a "one size fits all" answer. The right thing for each person to do is what leads to a condition of good health in their body... And it can take some trial and error to find that.
I'm hopeful that RFK Jr. has sparked a discussion about the medical-industrial complex, and maybe one day we can bring back the doctor-patient relationship without regulators and insurance companies fouling it all up with bad incentives.

Whereas people higher up tend to eat mostly whole foods, and maybe even shop for organic, farmers market, etc. What is found along the walls of the grocery store. Maybe make gym memberships tax deductible? Wearables can now track people's health; reward them for their healthy habits by reporting to insurance companies. Being healthy is a lifestyle but if it can also promote a healthier fulfilling life, the reward is less costs on medication or hospital bills

Keep the government out of it. The erroneous FDA food pyramids helped bring us to the unhealthy nation we are today. Pushing women into the workforce so that is less time to plan and make healthy meals, less time to garden and have backyard chickens or a dairy cow, is another contributor. Additionally, sugar has been added to every processed food.

@@rubensano4860 Thank you for responding, very good advice! My concern and I am kinda of an old country guy in upstate NY is the kids raised by parents around here that are obese, and some have diabetes. Their parents' poor and often ignorant of what does it take to make a long-lasting healthy body. So, these poor kids at the mercy of their poor parents and chronic diseases visits them in their teens. Just wish something could be done. When I was a kid, my mom was for a while a single Mom and my father refused to pay any child support. My Mother with all the stress became addicted to pain pills from a car accident and alcohol and for some years did not make hardly any meals for me and my siblings. So, school lunches saved the day, and kids would complain about the crap food, and I quietly would eat theirs. RFK, Jr had a great point about healthy eating and helping poor kids. However, politicians are not the best source of asking society to change since politics is so divisional. So, I guess the million-dollar question is what to do about the kids that have their health being permanently ruined at a young age and they are too young to protect themselves? I think 3 healthy meals of local grown farm foods at school should be offered to all kids. And the local farmers should be able to sell directly to the school districts. What do you think?

The endocrine disruptor crisis is affecting children worst of all. They're robbed of the ability to grow the way they should during puberty. This affects both body and brain development, as the brain similarly experiences massive changes during that time. They will suffer with the consequences for the rest of their lives.

Look around and then Google “kids at play 1960“. There were no fat kids back then, now you have to search to find a skinny one. Ask any pediatrician that’s been in practice for 40 years and they’ll tell you that for the first 30 years, they may have had one or two diabetic children in their entire career. Now two out of five kids that walk into their awesome office are diagnosed with type two diabetes. Type two diabetes is an old persons disease. these kids have high cholesterol, diabetes, thyroid problems, low testosterone, and the boys, and early menarche, periods and breast development in girls. We are being poisoned. There is virtually nothing you can buy in the grocery store that has prepared that is safe to eat. Everything is contaminated by seed oils. Even things I bought just a few years ago like heavy cream. It used to be called heavy cream. That’s all that was in it. Now it’s called heavy whipping cream and it contains carageenen or guar gum is a thickener. Why, we don’t need that in it. You can’t even buy hummus, sounds healthy, right except instead of olive oil, like it used to have it now has cottonseed oil, safflower, oil, sunflower oil. All highly inflammatory oils. Now I make my own.
