One of the most popular plastics for machining is Acetal. There are two main types of Acetal, the Dupont Delrin® Homopolymer (POM-H) and the Acetal Copolymer or POM-C. They look and feel the same, but they do have slightly different physical properties.
Both materials machine very easily, and are compared to soft brass for ease of machining.
A huge range of Acetal and Delrin® rod sizes, from .125" to over 20.0" diameters are available. Sheets of Acetal and Delrin® from .030" to over 6.0" thickness are standard.
Material is also known as: Dupont Delrin Rod, Dupont Delrin Sheet, Acetal Copolymer Rod, Acetal Copolymer Sheet, POM-H Rod, POM-H Sheet, POM-C Rod, POM-C Sheet.
