I remember, not that long ago, the drop-off/pick-up charge was £2. Around pandemic time, they doubled it to £4 (why?). I used it very recently and it was £5.50. I hear it's now going up to £7. So for stopping for a few seconds to drop off and then pick up, it'll be £14. They should be ashamed of themselves. Prices within the airport are also high. It's total profiteering and needs to be looked at.
My aunts luggage was delayed and I was charged £50 in the £5.50 section as I went over my time. I would never park there again as we have no control of luggage.
@@ROUTEPLANNERPAUL Someone told me today that the charge will be increased to £10. They know people have no choice but to use their scummy airport. This needs to stop.
I dropped my sister-in-law off. Parked the car in the multi-storey opposite the terminal, took her to check-in then up to security to say goodbye. The total time was around 25 minutes and I was charged £15.75. Daylight robbery!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Just back from Belfast city. Not only is Belfast much cleaner than Glasgow city centre the airport parking allows FREE drop off at a barrier controlled car park which is 5 minutes walk from main terminus. Glasgow airport is ripping off all users due to its international status. Holding all users to ransom.
After qualifying as a Civil Engineer in Glasgow (and working on the Kingston Bridge/Inner Ring Road), I emigrated to Adelaide, Australia in 1969. Best decision I ever made. And you get a whole 2 minutes of free set down / pick up time at Adelaide Airport (at least until the money-grubbing bean counters cotton on to the fact there's money to be made out of it)!
Auckland airport has a drop off zone purely for that purpose it is also staffed and you get moved along,so You only go there when passengers are outside or drop off its free
Just back from Scotland/Ireland. Belfast's George Best also now charges for drop off/pickup. The bus from GLA to Glasgow City Centre is still 10 quid(or just over now) and a decent deal.
In the petrol station, if you go into the subway there is a tablet. Enter your reg number and you can stay for 2 1/2 hrs. You do not need to buy anything.
im glad you mentioned about the 15 min limit at the petrol station because quite often someone will recommend waiting there to pick someone up and i always advise them against it . i used to deliver goods to the airport and a story i heard about one of the airport taxi's was a customer got in and told the driver he was going to Troon , he forgot to mention that he was going by train and he only wanted the taxi to gilmour street train station . the driver stopped and kicked him and his luggage out 👺, dont know if its true or not .
If you go to the long stay car park you get to stay up to 1 hour parking for drop off and pick up for free, plus the valet parking, theres a separate area in the long stay car park which is used primarily for valet parking which is served with free bus travel which takes 2 mins
i went to collect my aunt from canada fron the pick up point a few years ago. i told her to get to there and NOT MOVE.... but coz she had no signal there she toddled off back to the airport to message family that she had arrived.. her toddle off cost me £40 in pick up fees. i honestly think they picked an area with no signal on purpose!
Edinburgh and Glasgow airport drop off and parking charges are big ripp off. It is fault of Scottish government, they should make drop off of passengers charge free as part of airport operating license.
If picking up or dropping off a disabled passenger you use car park 2, which has 1 hour parking. The parking charge is waived on production of disabled blue badge
Stansted charged me £35.00 for a couple oh hours in the evening. I will never ever park in Stansted again. In fact I have left England. The current government is rotten to the core.
No temperature today? Some pace on the M8 Paul. Fastest I’ve seen you go. When you come to visit your brother, come say hello. I’m sure he’s just up the road from me! 🇦🇺
The last time I was in Glasgow airport was 2 days after that guy tried to blow up the place still remember it like you mentioned on this one we were on our way back to Perth (Aus) another one who left big change to the airport only thing it’s the same you can’t drop off at the front door ha! but keep up the good work seeing the old haunts what’s left came fae Govanhill good wan Paul
This is a bit off track but just back from Bodrum..... how about £17 to £18 for a burger (on its own) to take away and £5 for a small water, £8 for a rubbish sandwhich never mind the other stuff, that is a total rip off, then you come back to Edinburgh at 01;30am with not a seat to be had with a 90min wait for our transfer bus, and now you also have to pay for a luggage trolley, a coffee shop assistant stopping anyone from sitting in his empty shop even our small grandchildren had to sleep on the floor. Both of these airports (Glasgow &Edinburgh) are making massive proffits with little or no thought for their customers we are just fodder..... As has been said before RIP OFF TURKEY AND SCOTTISH AIRPORTS!!!!!!!!!!! No airport Commisioner for that rip off is there...... never heard of AIRCOM ......aircon yes!!!!!!! 🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂☹☹☹☹
Glasgow Airport is like many others now it's like a concrete fortress it costs Taxis just to drop you off just get in and out of the car park, it's cashless Taxi drivers have to use a card to pay to get out, I like Prestwick better just get on the train to get to that airport.
The greed in the country is absolutely disgusting...and this lot at Glasgow airport should be named and shamed... some people can't make enough money and never will... Glasgow airport is know for it's greed.
The irony is that all passengers pay taxes on their flights as well as departing from the Airport. All taxi passengers who get picked up from the Airport have to pay the Departure Fee after paying for their flights which include taxes.
People spend thousands on a holiday,, why not get a taxi door to door rather scrimping for a bus , after all whats the extra for a taxi with lots luggage ,,,,, just a thought
@@ROUTEPLANNERPAULI’ve used them many times, they’re very good indeed. But we warned, they close early in the evening. Need to factor this in if you have an evening flight.
Too many Hackney drivers in Glasgow want to get involved in politics and force their opinions onto others. I would never use a black cab in Glasgow it's nothing but negativity. Better value and less drama with a private hire driver.

I have a Blue Badge because of mobility problems unfortunately.. but i didn’t know i could use it when being dropped off or picked up at a airport.. are you sure if so Thanks for the information..
@LornaGallacher yeah definitely 100%. Even check their website. You go into the car park that he uses in this video and 30 mins are free. Just then press the buzzer at the exit barrier and when they answer say you've got a blue badge. Rarely they ask for the last 4 digits on it but most times they just let you through I've personally been and used it 4 times in the last 2 months
Airport is a rip off in every way possible . The car park is appalling the worst I’ve ever experienced, my son was charged £50 as the person he was meeting was delay by luggage . Never again better to go by bus this airport is run by thief’s and conn men
Thanks!

Not just Glasgow. Every airport in UK is a total rip off.

Totally agree Derek 👍
Fleeced when you get dropped off, then fleeced when you're inside 😠
Daylight robbery, parking at the Airport. Just another tax on the motorists in the UK

I meant to add that it's a bit of a crappy airport too with confusing signage overload.

Never been so glad to turn 60 ,Stirling to Buchanan street ,change bus then dropped off at the main door ,cost me nothing ,soldier card 👏
The other car park is £5.50 for 15 minutes now. I know I'm a taxi driver and it's a rip off mate.
Sure it's only 10 mins

Aye rip off Britain
19:05 house the windows done in right next to an international airport
Both airports parking charges are nothing short of extortion. Even the bus out to and from the Airport in Glasgow is £20 one way.
Aye rip off Britain
You took the wrong bus. The 500 - "Glasgow Airport Express Single Adult £10.50"
Did you mean 20 return. I think you can ask for open return on 500 but cheaper

@johngilchrist1224 thankyou for your comment 👍 good for people to get more information
Use Prestwick which is a lot better
And has a brilliant bus and train link
the more people you tell the more they'll hike the prices
At least the money is being used to pay for the new rail link to Glasgow Central…. Oh wait, it isn’t? 😅
It’s true you’ll. They are greedy as hell. I hope they don’t charge me for silly things on my next flight. God bless you all ✝️

If the company who runs these rip offs called euro parks they should be sued for charging extortionate prices 😡😡😡
Thank you for this. Great content 🦋
You need to go left to the roundabout and come back to go to Renfrew from the Paisley slip
£5 to drop off at Manchester Airport,at least £6.20 to pick up but be quick you only have 20 more.
Thankyou paul for the info pal 👍
