I met Tim Burton once when I worked for a Circus - I wasn't aware he was even there I was cleaning a carpet and when i looked at him and noticed him stood there starring at the balconies and ceiling he was clearly in another world. (not literally) but his mind was jumping around at ideas or visions of what could be in this 120+ year old circus. Hard to explain and better yet, he was very polite with me. Incredible person.

how certain are we that it wasn't LITERALLY another world? Could it be possible that you and Tim Burton discovered interdimensional travel?

Tim Burton. A man responsible for much of my childhood. His works spoke to me then, and they resonate with me to this day. Jack Skellington especially comes to mind. He and I are quite similar, or....used to be. He had his people to remind him of what he had right in front of him, rather than looking beyond for more and better things. I never did. He is happy, im sure. I wish i still had the hope that i could be happy myself. Share it with others. Smile. Nowadays, its just the same lonely day, still walking through the trees, looking for something more and better.....not realizing i had forgot what i had.
This is a wonderful piece, thank you for this. I will sleep to this, perhaps my dreams can be a little less lonely for now.

Tim Burton is good as a horror director because he focuses on atmosphere and visuals instead of jumpscares and twists. Makes things more tense and unpredictable.

Is it strange that any time I come across something gothic and somber such as this that I meet it with a, perhaps, antithetical view of hope and positivity? It's a beautiful piece and helped me write a bit of fiction I was working on but there's just something about the gothic that makes me just want to insert some form of hope into regardless of the intended meaning. Excellent work, hope to listen to more to these pieces as I delve into worldbuilding!...thank you Dark Realm!

In 1995 there was a record store in downtown Miami that i'd go to when I got paid from my job. One time I went in (It wasn't always the same person at the checkout place) and the person working in the store that day was playing the soundtrack to Edward Scissorhands in the whole store. I was excited because i'd always loved that score/soundtrack. Hearing it 5 or 6 yrs before. I was asking the guy working there about the soundtrack/score while I was thumbing through other records (it was mainly a rock record store, I didn't know they played "different" music until I walked in this time when Edward Scissorhands was being played) and he wouldn't verbally answer me, but would stare or nod at questions I asked him about the Edward soundtrack. I didn't want to look like I was being polite to someone who wasn't to me. I was asking him questions because the songs were one of my favourite scores and I had the chance to have it. So I brought it and left. The entire time I was in the store, despite having asked questions, the man working in the store that day never "verbally" answered me, and I purchased my items and left the store. Thinking back, I don' know why I didn't file a complaint.

Thank you for sharing your story. It sounds like a memorable experience, even if it was a bit unusual with the staff's lack of verbal response. We're glad you got the Edward Scissorhands soundtrack that you love. Sometimes, the music itself can create lasting memories despite the interactions we have.

    Let it all fall down
    Don’t look
There in the valley of white
    Stands a village
    Pretty houses in time
    Chimney and smoke and mist
And over there the tall mountain
    Ancient and strong
    Keeper of the forest
    Protector of all secrets
All the beauty of the world
    The roads far and wide
    Passing me by
    Laid before me, for me
    Don’t touch
    Busied my days
    Building fortress and castle
    Strong and safe
Do not wander, do not wonder
    I didn’t look, I didn’t touch
Today I bury my failed life-
Here lies he who never complained
    Never seen
    Never heard
    Today I bury my safety
    Today I fail on purpose
And I will not don’t run and don’t fall
And I will not don’t speak
I will touch and I will look and I will laugh
    Today I trade consent
    For coincidences
Today I shovel clouds in my window
    And forget about the snow
    Let it all fall down

Listening to this as I work on my next scientific study! Absolutely love this playlist and a huge Tim Burton fan! I went to the Tim Burton Labyrinth display this Jan in Brussels and got to witness some of his original works and life size characters from all his films. And they had music like this with thunderstorms playing in certain parts of the exhibit! What an incredible experience.
