The "horseshoes" on the rocks in Mulgore are a reference to prehistoric humans putting their hands on cave walls and blowing dye to form the outlines of their hands in this proto-paint.

Being a pet collector in World of Warcraft is really one of the most underrated experiences because it brings you to all sorts of corners of the world. You are literally forced to look at the small details from random vendors to secret areas just to find pets.

10:25 So fun lore fact, there's no buffalo but it could be a yak, there's a bunch of yaks in Pandaria where the Yaungol are and the Tauren are actually evolved from the Yaungol. Some Yaungol got blessed to become the Tauren, some got blessed again to get Moose antlers to become the Highmountain Tauren, and because the Tauren were nomadic for a long time the Taunka were basically just Tauren who got stuck in Northrend when the world split apart.

I haven't played since TBC but I love seeing your videos every time. I've thought about going back a few times to see this stuff for myself. I tried once but I didn't want to play the game anymore. Here's a whacky idea. Probably would cause a lot of lag though. They could have a tourist class of character. You couldn't be harmed by anything and you couldn't fight anything except with your bare hands to get through a area or something. It's a cool world that will only be seen by a few, millions yes but still not very many overall.
I did this at the end of TBC. I was max level and went to all the lower level dungeons just to see them. I also did the ambassador title achievement so I had to go to every zone. Other than that I ran people through dungeons or just helped them along the road.

I think the 'buffalo rocks' may have been related to Tauren Druid forms, before the devs decided on bear for tanking and cat for dps. Vanilla came out incomplete, even the cat form quest line didn't make it into it, yet there is a great cat spirit in southern Moonglade. So, maybe the intent early on was to have distinct druid forms for different races (although WC3 established nelf druids, the druids of the claw etc), but it had to be scrapped and merged into basic forms due to time and resource constraints?

I've noticed a lot of these sweet little spots in wow and always wondered why blizzard puts them into the game and never give a clue that they exist. My guess is that's why they were trying to force ground mounts to people, so they could explore the world and notice these things.
I leveling a SSF hardcore character in classic era and since it was gonna go slow either way I figured I'd take my time and explore every zone. I don't recommend doing this on a HC tho, but at least once you should do it, it's worth it.

Didn't the Tanaris thing have items on the ground which you had to loot for a quest back in the original game? I can't remember exactly because I was around five years old but I do remember following those trails to click on things in the sand for a quest or so I thought...

I highly doubt the temple was actually fully rendered before cataclysm. The devs admitted that they used a ton of sleight of hand style trickery and had to essentially rebuild the continents almost from scratch. That’s why flying restricted zones rarely if ever get flying enabled. That being said genuinely shocked I didn’t already know everything in this list. Turns out there’s always something new to learn.

world wise, tenaris is supposed to be HUGE, like Sahara desert huge. gameplay / technical limitations wise: teeny tiny desert.

I wouldn't call having a beehive right inside such a cramped house "cozy". The bees would just fly around and sting you all the time. Then again, the furbolgs may not care, since their hides are too thick.

There was a power for Tauren that was similar to Worgens run wild that i believe was scrapped for making mounts bigger for Tauren that might explain the 4 legged ‘buffalo’ imagery

A few more that could have been on this list, in the starting zone if you go kind of de-bound into the water there are some things that no one would ever find outside of people just exploring and it's pretty far out there. There is this mountain somewhere that has just a bunch of Critters fighting for some reason, they all have armor if I remember correctly too. Might be just be a bunch of squirrels or something I don't remember exactly but it was pretty cool to see. And then finally there's that red dragon sleeping in a cave and no one knows why.
