      Could you please explain why you have to multiply the speed input by 100?

    • @ShaneWelcher
      @ShaneWelcher 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@johnathonsummers2135 It's based on the parameter file of the VFD you are using.
      Or in other words, the parameter file of the Powerflex drive that is being used in the system.
      Sorry if I missed that in the video but I know I cover this in this series of videos.
      I understand that watching videos can be interesting at times & not so at others, with that said, it is important to watch all of my videos because I do cover details of whatever I talk about throughout.
      Also, note that I will be adding timelines to the videos in the future to better help anyone trying to find what they are looking for.
      I hope that helps...have a great day.

    Do you have an example of control speed using high/low limit switches and timers? Such that if the low level is on and speeds up for every second it is on? Slows done when at the high level. Thanks

      That is fairly simple to do if you would like for me to make one.
      I have similar logic controls in my training courses at

    Hello sir, I am facing one issues we have dam gate control application using PF 525 VFD. While gate opening we don't get any fault but when we start down operations VFD gives Overvoltage F005 alarm after 1 to 2 feet down from actual position. There are two cases 1 decelation time is 1 sec. Second 120Ohm 2.5kW DBR is used DBR Parameter is also selected Normal duty cycle also I checked with different duty cycle . Still problem is there so please guide me. Thank you.

      Sounds like you need to decrease the decel and if that doesn't help then you need to add a braking module to burn off any regeneration power from what you described.

    Is it possible to control the powerflex without plc? Only Modbus tcp?

    • @ShaneWelcher
      @ShaneWelcher 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's possible to control a Powerflex 525 with no plc controls.....yes
      You can use push button controls wired to the digital inputs or just use the keypad

    If you are new learning about plc , this is too fast and can not understand, also each person have own ways to program, you can not understand people ways. I'm looking for a exercise book and practice often but I didn't see any online.

      @@PLC-79 Sorry bud but I disagree, I program in the best practice methods as examples of how things should be done.
      If it's too fast, then pause and practice.
      There is nothing you can't achieve as long as you care about what you are doing.

      Thanks prof, I checked your website yesterday, but couldn't find on it what I needed.
      My problem is I have 4 VFDs running and I need to read the current, I'm using LogixDesigner 32.11 and I changed the device definition so I can read the current, but when I downloaded the program to the PLC, the drives got faulty and can't connect to PLC, I can't find the buttons and tabs LogixDesigner 30 and 31 have to download the changes to the drive configuration tab, because no tab for drive in version 32, and can't download it online cause drive isn't connecting

      @@jrdz009 If you need to read current then either add it to the drive configuration on the PLC IO for yh drives then download so the tags are used or just use that message instruction in the current program to read information front he drives.
