Even Scott and Mark have said they don't want to be pigeonholed as a Christian band. Sure, his lyrics have Christian elements to them, but they don't really identify as Christian. They've talked about they don't want that added pressure.
Transition to grunge from 80’s hairy era was difficult for us fans of 70’s, Deep Purple, Led Zep etc. We barely survived that transition. Creed used to be one of the helpers during the time rock music couldn’t decide where it should evolve. One more thing to remember is that Stapp’s singing reminded Eddie Wedder to many rockers. But Creed was way different than PJ. Creed didn’t play guitar solos. No blues inspiration, only grunge traces. Christian messages? Yes, less or more. Creed was indeed the prefered rock band of the parents :-) No matter what, i liked their distorted guitars (Tremonti thumbs up) and catchy drummings but they’ve never been my idols. Pearl Jam is the best when it comes to keep the rock n roll spirit for decades under heavy musical changes all around.
Creed songs that you should listen to (and you might have heard a couple of these): Higher, With Arms Wide Open, My Own Prison, What If, One, What's This Life For?, and Bullets (if you're feeling like you want to hear some metal).
Hi. I think I may understand the video. I believe he is reflecting his life and its hardships and trails. The end seems to explain somehow he lost his dad and his mother protected him in tumultuous life with a horrible abusive step-dad. So the video works backwards from old to younger. Then old again at the end. Lol if that makes any sense.
One of most under appreciated groups of all time!!!
I prefer to think this is song about our/his return to God. He is baptized and rescued from the flood. He is rejoicing in his worship.
Me too
I absolutely love this song. With Arms Wide Open is another Creed classic
There are some christian elements to this band but they're mostly mainstream Rock band

This came out in 2001. This was even played at the super bowl back then. Major hit.

React to a thousand faces by creed
Try My Own Prison
CREED is NOT a Christian band....not even a little.
there are definitely several references to bible in "My own prison" for example
