I believe He had been set up by the government because he wasn't willing to play along nicely with the state department and the deep state. He knows about things that he can't talk about publicly because of NDA's and doesn't have whistle blower protection because he no longer works for the government. They can put things into your computer without your knowledge easily and I believe they have done that. His wife has stood by him 100% and that says a lot.
