Always great seeing an interview of Aretha that I’d never seen… really feeds into the thought I’m semi obsessive when I see it was only posted months ago 🙃
When Aretha spoke of having the creative control over her movie sadly that never actually happened for her in that way. Seeing as after she died is when things got started without her involvement over the final say.
I don’t think the movie ever would have gotten made if she had been involved. She always tried way too hard to make it like everything in her life was perfect. She wanted a total fantasy depiction of her story; if it even slightly tried to tell the truth she would have prevented it from being told.
@@joeb267382 - I don't agree with it never would have been made or came out if she was still alive. But I do agree with everything else you said, seeing as Aretha was a very private person so if she didn't want to speak of it in interviews throughout the years, why would she want it plastered all over a movie about her life story and career. But the fact of the matter is a lot of celebrities whose life stories have been told I guarantee they made sure certain things were left out or the truth was exaggerated and twisted around. No matter if it was a cheap independent film, or big Hollywood production, all these different celebrity stories throughout the years are probably almost never accurate to the person's actual life. Even if the celebrity themselves said tell my story and don't exaggerate I don't care if people know the real truth. Because as we know it Hollywood altogether likes to feed off of the negativity, and those are the stories that they like to show and tell.
@@echance12 - Yes Jennifer did often speak about the stories and conversations she and Aretha had but that doesn't mean it was put into the film in the way Aretha wanted. Patti LaBelle even spoke about it in her own way saying that she wants to be alive to be involved in her story being told. Also saying she doesn't want to be one of those celebrities whose story is told after they die.
There was a video of Aretha's concert, when the man jumped on stage, but it's been removed. He jumped on stage as effortlessly as a tiger and stood face to face with her. She was SHOCKED and SCARED and ran a few steps away from the man. Three bodyguards came out and threw him off stage like they were discarding garbage! They didn't care if he landed headfirst! Luckily, the man was very athletically graceful and landed effortlessly again! I could imagine that it was very horrifying for Aretha, given the fact that she's had death threats lodged against her!
She was still so on point and so alert all the way of her life 🙏🏻
its , 2024 and it still does not seem real that aretha is no longer here with us, i wished that i could have met her. she was down to earth.

Jennifer Hudson said that she had her hands in it before she died and said Aretha would tell her stores and things about her life

Now that im seeing this. I wish Audra McDonald would've played Aretha
I want to know what picture it was
Yeah, the interviewer didn't exercise proper judgement when she failed to show the audience the photo!
Where are the 5 final Babyface songs?

Aretha liked good downhome soul food. 😆😋
I'm glad Ms Franklin didn't feed into the interviewer BS--They always trying to stir up drama
