Sombra has so much potential. He's my favorite pony. He reminds of darkload Sauron from The Lord Of The Rings. Corruption, strength selfishness, hatred, evil... My kind of character. I would be his dark servant. And together, we would rule Equestria in power and DARKNESS!
This is good, really good, but parts that I think would have helped some more would be when he gets destroyed by the crystal heart, and when he is materializing from his dark form to claim it. Although that is just my opinion.
Question: Did the Darkness possess Sombra after he passed out from lack of air, or did he die and it merged with his corpse? Because, when Luna got possessed by Nightmare, her cutey mark didn't change, but after the Darkness got Sombra, his did.
I'll go with the darkness merging with his corpse. Also, Luna was just simply corrupted by creatures from the Nightmare Dreamscape much like Rarity did when she became Nightmare Rarity. EDIT: that might also fit better; because, we don't know that if a pony dies their cutie mark could become gray or faded to confirm it.
a closer look would confirm that the darkness was already possesing sombra from the time of the visit at the library. he was holding it back untill it fully consumed him under the water.
*+David Felts* in the season 4 pilot episode i think she dies in that fire thing that surrounds her. She was just bought back to life by the elements of harmony. As the elements were not used to defeat sombra he did not get saved
