Because it's taeyeon the one singing it. The singer puts her own interpretation on the lyrics. It would be totally different if Yoona or sunny or any other snsd former member did the song. Maybe happier maybe even angry. it's taeyeon's touch that's why snsd songs were perfectly equilibrated because the 9 all conveyed a lot of emotions together like a beautiful rainbow.

This song was actually planned to be release on her birthday which is March 9, but her father passed away that day, her birthday. And yes she lost someone. SHINee's Jonghyun who was one of her bestfriend passed away in 2017, F(x)'s Sulli was also one of her friend passed away in 2019, and another one is KARA's Go Hara passed like months after sulli's. And her grandma passed away in april 2020.
and yet, she still stand strong. Trying to spread positive vibe through her music and moving on. And she is a strong woman, period.
