    I'm new to winter sports and basic videos like this helps me a lot to figure out what to expect on blue run. so many thanks.

      This isn’t a normal blue run. This is a connection run between two lift stations. Normal blues will be a bit wider and curvy.

    I’ve been on that ran when it was icy and it is scetchy AF.

    Looking at the trail map there aren't many blue runs at SP. Can't wait to try it and try a few blacks as well

    What run is this? Backside?

    • @IlyaButenko
      @IlyaButenko  5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Yes, back side. I think that is South Divide - Aquarius - Lower Gemini.

    • @IlyaButenko
      @IlyaButenko  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @JAMES FARIA That is the Double Diamond - the chair lift from the front side. If I am not mistaken, it turns into the Southern Cross chair lift on the back side.

    can someone tell me how different blue is from green im kinda scared to move up to blue

    • @IlyaButenko
      @IlyaButenko  4 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Blue runs require a bit better ability to control your speed and stop when needed. I guess that's it... Stick to the green slopes until you’re making left and right wedged turns and working towards parallel skiing. Once you can can stop on your left and right side, you are ready to go. Alternatively you can attend a skiing class (that is how I started a year ago :) ).

      @@IlyaButenko thanks. yes i can do parallel skiing and i go with my school so we do have to do the lessons:)

      Honestly not as different as you may think. The big difference is from blue to black

      You're likely a better skier now and can answer your own question. I'd be interested to know your answer.
      For what it's worth, I always thought blues were easier than greens. My rational behind that is that greens tend to be so shallow that it made turns more difficult. As I've taught family members to ski I've rushed them to blues as quickly as I could.

      It's simple reallly...
      If you fall on a green, you live. If you fall on a blue, you fall to your death.

    Work on not sliding your edges. They should cut into the snow, not skid over it while turning. You're also turning your upper body while turning. Keep your upper body pointed down the hill and independent of what your lower body is doing. Good luck!

    This cat track is not skiing, and the rest of it was hardly skiing. I hope you're able to post some vertical as the video skill improves. Best of luck. - cja

      @@IlyaButenko I know now, I'm sorry. I just seem to challenge everybody. Skiing is turning, the steeper the incline the easier it is to turn. When you are on the hill find your challenge.
