@@rosyvita._ normally you shouldn't wait for gratitude, or you are just misunderstanding parenting. It's perfectly to do it just for yourself, to feel that you are a loving parent, doing your best and maybe soothing your inner child. It's a burden for a child to be grateful from need.
Just wanted to add, maybe some people just have a harder time remembering things. Children are having to take in so much new information that I'm sure it gets hard to remember some things. And don't feel too bad, the memory is in there somewhere.
