Btw I realize that shanghai has animatronics - I was very ineloquently trying to express that they are very different. One is very new school and uses a lot more new technology, this one is more classic dark ride. Which I love
The Shanghai PotC is one of the best rides on the planet, let alone best Disney ride. But the Paris one is my fav traditional PotC. Any chance you'll be heading to Tokyo? Tokyo Disney Sea will blow your mind. The level of detail at that park is amazing.
I think it's so amazing how you're acknowledging all the little details! I feel like a lot of people don't look left or right and I'm SO happy they put all the wonderful little things into Disneyland Paris, it makes everything more magical.
I agree the castle in Disneyland Paris is the best one I have seen so far. This is by far my favorite Disney resort and I cannot wait to see walt Disney studios once they complete the expansion project
Disneyland Paris' version of Pirates has always been my favourite, I'm glad they haven't changed it too much! I was in Paris this June when they were working on it and we were devastated because Pirates is my best friend's favourite ride, who was with me. I was really worried how much they'd change it because I've been going to Paris Disneyland since I was three! Being British, it's the closest one and the easiest to get to for a quick holiday, so it holds a special place in my heart. Thank goodness my childhood ride hasn;t changed too much so I don't recognise it anymore! Thanks for the ride through, I appreciate it, it's settled my imagination!
I had no idea that Phantom Manor was being refurbished soon! It almost makes me nervous because we all know that changes at Disney is a sensitive issue, but I'm relieved that I managed to visit it and see it back in September before the changes.
I was there the other week and we had about an hour of really heavy snow, just as we were going on big thunder mountain, it’s safe to say we could feel our faces after that!
You know what would be cool? You should do a split screen, side by side comparison of The french rides and the american versions! I havn't seen anyone do that!
Seeing snow in Disney is weird!! That Pirates looks awesome there, from the queue to the actual attraction! There looks like there is so much room outside of the fort for sword fights! Pretty awesome you could see the castle from your balcony!
Having actually BEEN on the Shanghai Pirates, I can confirm that isn’t true! There are TONS of animatronics in that ride. That Davy Jones animatronic alone is freakin amazing.
I used to love snow... until after I lived a year in Winnipeg, Manitoba (Canada): Six months of winter, with unimaginably cold temperatures and snow yards high from Halloween until after Mother's Day.
I originally subscribed to your channel to follow your adventues in Disneyland CA, in anticipation of my 2015 trip, but I must say it is really fun to see your enthusiasm visiting our park ! -From a DLP Cast Member ;)
Epic video Mr Scarred! Phantom Manor is my favourite Disneyland Paris ride... I am looking forward to its renovation! Have an amazing Christmas! Keep bringing amazing adventures!
Weird to see how HUGE and spread out everything is at Disneyland Paris. I think the Imagineers had finally learned their lesson from the first few parks to make enough room for crowds... ironically, Disneyland Paris seems to be the least crowded park of them all.
Disneyland Paris was opened in 1992 and due to its location literally being in the heart of Europe was expected to be one of the most popular resorts. However economic issues in Europe (end of Cold War), job issues, and political resentment of US ideology from center-right and far right French politicians and groups saw Disneyland Paris as American Values being shoved to the French people and thus contributed to the parks poor early years until 1995, this also added with French Employees not liking working conditions (apparently it wasn't that bad a couple just felt full of themselves) and not liking that the Park was also hiring employees that wasn't French. All these contributed to the Parks economic fall out to the Disney Company and also a contributor for the shuttering of various Disney Projects from West Epcot, A Early Version of Disney Sea that would have been in Long Beach CA and Disney America and various major ride concepts. The Introduction of Space Mountain in Disney Paris version of Tomorrow land parties interested in the parks success, and reworked working conditions, a formidable advertising campaign all would help the park. After the 2000's the park began to have more productivity and now enjoys a healthy respectable guest attendance. It could be bigger but hey its Europe and France.
The times I went I was annoyed that everything was in french... Not everyone in europe knows french. Yes, I learned in school but can hardly remember anything. Lol
Are you planing to eventually go to Tokyo Disneyland? Tokyo Disney Sea is honestly my favorite Disney park, but you make Disneyland Paris look like a ton of fun!
Watching this makes me wanna jump on a plane now and head back to Disneyland Paris. These are my two faves at that theme park. Ill definitely need to go soon before the Phantom Manor and most of the park gets redone.
great video, following you a couple of years now, and you make the magic of the parks count... have a great Christmas/a nice holiday season greetings from the netherlands
Great video as always Justin! Since I got back from your home stomping grounds this past weekend to my home in St. Louis where it's 30 degrees, I'm all for the warm, sunny weather in December!
So funny how the POTC in Paris is a reversed version of the POTC in DW and DL California! It starts off with the bay, like the others but then straight up dives into the jail, the fighting ships and the burning city, to end it off with the skeletons. While POTC in DW and DL California starts with the skeletons and ends with (if i remember correctly) the jail.
The one time I went to Disneyland Paris as a child it snowed a lot. A cast member told my mother it was the coldest winter they had in all the years he worked there. Also, I got hit by a wild snowball out of (I think) the dragon cave, it hit me right in the face and that’s why I never saw the dragon.
a lot of people complain about Phantom Manor being a bit too cruel and dark compared to the original Haunted Mansion. But I see PM as an own identity. HM is a mix between playfull, goofy and spooky at the same time. PM is múch darker and takes itself far more serious (for having a complete storyline for example). It all depends on taste (and a bit of which mansion you're introduced to first). I am fan of both but I will always love PM more. It's so delightfully dark and menacing at times and not only has it ghosts, but also skeletons! (why do people hate those skeletons??? they are a perfect addition! yes they aren't ghosts but this is not HM! People really need to stop whiningXD) And everything with skeletons is my cup of tea (I love the POTC ride as well, coincidence??) I hope they will not make big changes in PM. For me, it only has to be cleaned up, and please....make sure EVERY animatronic works!! I've visited PM several times and only 1 of those times all animatronics worked and/or were present (the dog appears and dissapears quite often, just like the bride in the hallway XDXDXD)
Hehehe I love the sped-up version of POTC at the very end. "Yohoyoho the pies on me" Hahaha! Anyway Justin, next time you come visit Europe, do yourself a favor and stop in the Netherlands for a couple days, and while you're at it, go visit the Efteling theme park! It has a great selection of dark rides and thrill rides (including the amazing Symbolica!!), as well as a HUGE historical heritage. It is rumored to be one of the places Walt himself went to while seeking inspiration for the original Disneyland! So next time you hit Europe, be a dear and go spend a couple days there!
There actually are animatronics in Shanghai - I haven’t watched a ridethrough in a while so I don’t remember all of them, but they have the Davy Jones animatronic which I so wish we had in Anaheim! Waaaay cooler than Jack or Barbossa.
Justin u know about Big Bear California? I've been there, and about this time of year, there's snow, and lots of things to do😊 (like a lake, snow sleds, and lots of historical stuff) also vist Wrightwood it's just down the hill a bit from big bear.
DLP also has the Mark Twain as second riverboat, but that has been in dry dock since Molly Brown came out of refurbishment a couple years back. We're hoping to see the Anaheim clone back on the rivers soon though. It's being missed 😭
i remember it before renovated. in 2011 and we must also getting in line for pirate ride. some worker did make show so that every one did jonas to the ships :P
Justin Keep it up man love the videos. Your a huge inspiration to me. If you ever want to come to the Great Smoky Mountains and hit up dollywood let me know. I'll show you around!
How much you wanna bet the refurb for phantom manor will bring a lot of the American haunted mansion elements into it. I hope that doesn’t happen but I want the old grim grinning ghosts American version
Couldn't help it, but during your Phantom Manor ride, all I could think about is that smell at Disney World's Haunted Mansion...does this have a certain smell too? Would be weird at a Disney Park with real snow...at least those of us who've just been to the American ones...
Living in Chicago where the weather hurts my face.. Not a fan of real snow.. Although extremely strange to see Disney in snow! Come on down to Chicago in January!
After just coming back from a Disneyland Paris trip I can confirm that cast members can use their discretion when letting people to the front of the line. I was lucky enough to get to skip the line on space mountain, Indiana Jones, rock and roller coaster, Ratatouille and tower of terror, thanks to nice cast members.
"Do you want to build a snowmaaaan? No I don't, it's really coooold!"
Not even a minute in and I've already cracked up. This is a good video.
It's the Cooooooold west.
Jennifer Evans nailed it
This is the only comment I can see
Perfect.
I only looked at the comments to make certain that somebody had said this!
Btw I realize that shanghai has animatronics - I was very ineloquently trying to express that they are very different. One is very new school and uses a lot more new technology, this one is more classic dark ride. Which I love
I agree Justin, something about animatronics that gives that classic dark ride feel
The Shanghai PotC is one of the best rides on the planet, let alone best Disney ride. But the Paris one is my fav traditional PotC. Any chance you'll be heading to Tokyo? Tokyo Disney Sea will blow your mind. The level of detail at that park is amazing.

Do you wanna build a snowman? No i don't its really cold! 😂😂😂
You really have to appreciate how much effort goes into the rides at all the Disney parks! It's impressive!
ONE OF YOUR BEST, THE GREATEST MORNING EVER. SNOW, AND THE MAGIC CASTLE.
I agree the castle in Disneyland Paris is the best one I have seen so far. This is by far my favorite Disney resort and I cannot wait to see walt Disney studios once they complete the expansion project

Amazing shots of thunder mountain with snow on it! Keep up the good work Justin!
I had no idea that Phantom Manor was being refurbished soon! It almost makes me nervous because we all know that changes at Disney is a sensitive issue, but I'm relieved that I managed to visit it and see it back in September before the changes.
That was too perfect! "Do you want to build a snowman? No I don't because it's cold!" hahaha I love it!!
Justin:Do you want to build a snowman? No I don't, its really cold!
Winter for me in a nutshell...
I was there the other week and we had about an hour of really heavy snow, just as we were going on big thunder mountain, it’s safe to say we could feel our faces after that!
I just love your Disneyland Paris adventures! Hey! Who was the grinch that gave this video a thumbs down? Sheesh! Some people...
You know what would be cool? You should do a split screen, side by side comparison of The french rides and the american versions! I havn't seen anyone do that!
Another epic adventure which is more enjoyable every time you watch it
00:06 time to change the diaper! LOL!
I was wondering if anyone else saw that lol
Seeing snow in Disney is weird!! That Pirates looks awesome there, from the queue to the actual attraction! There looks like there is so much room outside of the fort for sword fights! Pretty awesome you could see the castle from your balcony!
So pretty! Can’t wait til I can visit Disneyland Paris someday!!!
"do you wanna build a snoowmaaaan" " no I don't it's really cold" ... just ... MAGIC :D
Having actually BEEN on the Shanghai Pirates, I can confirm that isn’t true! There are TONS of animatronics in that ride.
That Davy Jones animatronic alone is freakin amazing.
Love your vlog! you made us realise we need to open our eyes wider at DLP!! Pirates is my all time number one ride too!
Wow! Never ever considered actually going to Disneyland Paris....until now. Wow.
I used to love snow... until after I lived a year in Winnipeg, Manitoba (Canada): Six months of winter, with unimaginably cold temperatures and snow yards high from Halloween until after Mother's Day.
From what I remember going to DLP, entering Adventureland always had this SUPER sweet smell.
I originally subscribed to your channel to follow your adventues in Disneyland CA, in anticipation of my 2015 trip, but I must say it is really fun to see your enthusiasm visiting our park !
-From a DLP Cast Member ;)
That was epic!! Loved every moment of it!!!
Awesome content! Love all the Disney stuff on your channel!
All throughout that ending all I could think was: #fun #fun #fun
that's an awesome Pirates!
I love this in so many ways! We were at Dland Paris July 2017...I just appreciate this! Thank you!
Epic video Mr Scarred! Phantom Manor is my favourite Disneyland Paris ride... I am looking forward to its renovation! Have an amazing Christmas! Keep bringing amazing adventures!
of course Justin goes on Snow White when it snowed outside

eaglerocks123 you forget the biggest thing alcohol. Yes they were mad that there was no alcohol at the park
"Could be bigger"? Disneyland Paris' parks were f***ing PACKED this last year!
The times I went I was annoyed that everything was in french... Not everyone in europe knows french. Yes, I learned in school but can hardly remember anything. Lol
The ending was a great surprise!
Magnifique! Another great one, J! J'adore Disneyland Paris.
Are you planing to eventually go to Tokyo Disneyland? Tokyo Disney Sea is honestly my favorite Disney park, but you make Disneyland Paris look like a ton of fun!
Another great one, thanks Justin 😊 💛🎄

THAT'S ONE BIG TREE, plus Love Mystic Manor!
I think the Paris Pirates is WAY better then any other pirates including Shanghai.
great video, following you a couple of years now, and you make the magic of the parks count... have a great Christmas/a nice holiday season greetings from the netherlands
So much open space there ahhhh!
Looks so fun!!!
Wow love the refurb.
Thank you for sharing! One day I hope to visit DL Paris❤️
If I had ever gotten stopped on Phantom Manor before the refurbishment, I would’ve genuinely feared for my life. Not so much now, though.
Great video as always Justin! Since I got back from your home stomping grounds this past weekend to my home in St. Louis where it's 30 degrees, I'm all for the warm, sunny weather in December!
Oh my goodness! Thank you for making this episode! It is my dream to visit here some day! Maybe in early 2019 once Phantom Manor is open again!!

Six degrees of Mark Twain!!

Today while I had your video on in the background, I realized: you're pretty much the father I wish I had growing up.
You're so funny! I can never watch your videos without laughing 😂❤
nice ending. ty smile
There are animatronics in the Shanghai version. (Ghosts, Cap. Jack, Davy Jones, a lot more)
Great Great Great Video 😀😀
Hehehe I love the sped-up version of POTC at the very end. "Yohoyoho the pies on me" Hahaha!

There actually are animatronics in Shanghai - I haven’t watched a ridethrough in a while so I don’t remember all of them, but they have the Davy Jones animatronic which I so wish we had in Anaheim! Waaaay cooler than Jack or Barbossa.
That place is WAY cool
My six year old has started calling me "spoopy". "You're so spoopy. Spoopy-mama" ....

Justin Keep it up man love the videos. Your a huge inspiration to me. If you ever want to come to the Great Smoky Mountains and hit up dollywood let me know. I'll show you around!
There are animatronics and amazing ones at that in the Shanghai pirates
There are animatronics in Shanghai's Pirates. Granted, there are only six of them, and two of those are Jack Sparrow, but there are some.
How much you wanna bet the refurb for phantom manor will bring a lot of the American haunted mansion elements into it. I hope that doesn’t happen but I want the old grim grinning ghosts American version
You need to go to Shanghai Disneyland and do a video, you'll be blown away!
When the pirates of the Caribbean was on my screen , I could have sworn I'd smelled it but it occurred to me that it was just the memory of a smell
As amazing as the Shang Hai Pirates looks I would rather see this one in person.
you were so lucky to go when we had a snow storm in the UK/EU. Sadly though my county didnt get any, just rain x.x
so scary at the end... LOL
Amazing TH-camr
Yeses more Disneyland Paris
Brrrrrrrrrr that looks cold ❄
Couldn't help it, but during your Phantom Manor ride, all I could think about is that smell at Disney World's Haunted Mansion...does this have a certain smell too? Would be weird at a Disney Park with real snow...at least those of us who've just been to the American ones...
Justin you are awesome I wish you would come to Walt Disney Florida Orlando one time so that I could be at the park and meet you

Living in Chicago where the weather hurts my face.. Not a fan of real snow.. Although extremely strange to see Disney in snow! Come on down to Chicago in January!
I wish there would be Air BnB's available inside of their PotC ride haha
least you got on Phantom before it's refurb! it closes on my birthday so i'm planning to get the last ride on it!
I work at Disneymand Paris !!! You should have come by Autopia ! I'd would have made you cut the line :p
