Lovebites - Dystopia Symphony

Lovebites is a Japanese Power Metal Band. Lovebites was formed in Tokyo in 2016 by Bassist Miho and Drummer Haruna. The two met while Members of Destrose. After recruiting Guitarist Midori and support Guitarist and Keyboardist Miyako, the four chose Vocalist Asami. Midori was in the Band "Gekijo Metalicche", Miyako was a Member of "A Drop of Joker" and "21g", while Asami was a backup Singer for "Vamps" and "Uverworld". During one rehearsal, the Musicians performed "Love Bites (So Do I)" by Halestorm. Feeling that the Song fit well with Asami's voice, it left an Impression on all of the Members and they chose "Lovebites" as the Name for their New Band. They had their first Concert on November 18, 2016, at Tsutaya O-West as part of the "Girls Band Next Generation" Event. For the Show, they were supported by third Guitarist Sena.
Lovebites released their Debut EP, The Lovebites EP, in May 2017 via Victor Entertainment. Miho explained that it was more of a Demo to get the Band signed, but the Label liked it so much they had it properly Mastered and released. It was Mixed by Mikko Karmila and Mastered by Mika Jussila, who have worked with Acts like "Nightwish", "Children of Bodom" and "Stratovarius". The EP was released in the United Kingdom on August 25 by JPU Records and in North America by Sliptrick Records on August 31.
Support Member Miyako became a Full Member of the Band in August 2017. On August 17, 2021, Bassist Miho announced her departure from the Band. The other Members and their Staff had held "countless meetings to find a way for her to stay," but ultimately decided to respect her decision. As a result, Lovebites temporarily suspended all Activities, but assured Fans that they would return.Between April 2 and May 24, 2022, Lovebites accepted auditions for a new Bass Player. On October 21, Lovebites revealed 20-year-old Fami as their new Bassist.

Thank you. 'Dystopia Symphony' is one of my favorite songs! Sorry, but there are a lot of errors in Wikipedia (articles about LOVEBITES). Unfortunately, people sometimes post incorrect information. This is often due to the fact that they incorrectly translate articles from Japanese music media (using an Automatic Translator), etc.
For example :
1. LOVEBITES was created by bassist Miho. At the time of the creation of the band, Haruna (drums) was not involved in music at all. In December 2014, at her last concert as a member of DESTROSE, Haruna announced that she was leaving the music industry. Miho continued to play DESTROSE until July 2015. In July 2015, a farewell concert took place and DESTROSE announced a break in their activities. In fact, the band ceased to exist.
After DESTROSE, Miho continued to play in several metal bands as a support musician (guest).
At the beginning of the summer of 2016, reports appeared in the Japanese music press that ex-bassist DESTROSE Miho had created a new super metal band from experienced musicians.Miho wanted to create her own band. She invited Haruna and together they found the rest of the members.
2. LOVEBITES' performance on 'Girls Band Next Generation' (November 18, 2016) was not the first. The band performed before this event, for example, on August 4, 2016, a concert took place in Tokyo.
3. The search for a new bassist lasted from the beginning of April to the end of August 2022 and took place in three stages:
April 2 - May 24, 2022 - the first stage ( 1st Screening) took place. From approximately 250 candidates, bassists were selected to advance to the second stage ( 2nd Screening), which took place in July 2023.
The third stage (Final) took place on August 27, 2022.
4. Always and everywhere LOVEBITES call themselves a heavy metal band because their songs represent many more genres than power metal. At every performance (concerts, festivals) Asami (lead vocals) shouts to the audience: “We are LOVEBITES and we play heavy metal!”
LOVEBITES play thrash, speed, neoclassical, power, progressive metal, classical music (piano), some hard rock. They often mix different genres in one song. For example, 'Dystopia Symphony' is progressive & neoclassical. As it was written in a review in the music media in 2021: "....the neoclassical nightmare of 'Dystopia Symphony' is one of the band's very best songs musically!"
The song 'Paranoia' from the same EP ('Glory, Glory, to the World') is thrash metal with symphonic elements. 'Winds of Transylvania' is thrash metal with speed metal and the addition of classical piano. 'Glory to the World' has a distinct neoclassical sound. Ect.

I understand you and agree with you. Complete and objective information about Japanese groups is difficult to find. The best place to look for it is in Japanese media. But, unfortunately, this is due to the difficulty of translation from Japanese into other languages.
