i wish i could do this, ill be 21 this year and i have an apartment with my boyfriend and another couple. we pay 1300 a month for a 2bed 2bath and it’s not really a big space. i am so grateful for this opportunity (we got it at a cheaper rate due to it being winter at the time, otherwise we’d be paying 1400+) but it feels like all i work for are the bills. we pay a smaller portion of rent now but that doesn’t add up to the utilities and other bills you end up paying living on your own. we want to start van life so bad but i think you can never escape the cycle of being broke no matter the work. we get paid 15 an hour (everyone works at the same place) but we all still struggle. hours are cut as soon as there is a raise and inflation is steady fluctuating. if my home life, or even my partners, was stable enough we’d live at home. this feels like the smarter and safer option in this economy. i’m envious and happy for you to say the least ! i feel bogged down always and i can’t seem to ever escape it. thank you for this video, it gives me some form of comfort:)
as for someone in their 20s in Switzerland; its crazy, here the rent prices are just insane, that even young adults with regular jobs still live with their parents or move in with their partners.. as a student, I don't have enough own money to pay rent here and I don't want my parents to pay more.. but I think that as you grow older, your parents tend to become some kind of friends and you are all adults and can have great discussions and stuff! like I love living with them and it feels more like a flat share at this point :)
In portugal with the house crisis is absolutely impossible to have a place of your own if you don’t have a partner. And even if you do, it’s hard. So people end up not moving out until they are 25-26. Im 21 and for me it’s impossible to have a place of my own :(
i loved this video!! i’ll be 21 in august and still live at home, so it’s cool to see someone i can relate to in that way. 😌
Aww that’s awesome! ☺️ Thank you for watching!
