How much nowadays do CNC machines facilitate work with ornaments? In the past, months were spent doing woodcuts by hand, today one program can be used countless times. Incredibly beautiful to the eye!Quality 100%
The ornament per se can be reused (ornament library) but you have to implement those in different panels, which is a new program every time. Or so. The time consuming part is the creation of those ornaments. (if you don't want all of your works look the same)
I bought this as a gift for my friend th-cam.com/users/postUgkxcZqgZ8Ynkiz5n_LxIWRlAicuzmz5kCHG who is just starting out in the world of wood work. He loves it!! There is a great section on different wood and what to use for what kind of job and a similar section for tools as well. The projects in it are things you probably would have a go at with clear instructions, pictures, videos and diagrams throughout. Great for a beginner/amateur wood worker.
This is a good book. Does provide a step by step introduction to how to build things th-cam.com/users/postUgkxhgbP-6hUnXu_QRaoHgLztgsI0YF3HqR0 , also does offer some steps. Includes pictures to give you ideas for layouts and such. If you are looking for a guide, this is not exactly what you want. But if you are trying to familiarize yourself with the way that pole barn building and other out buildings, are made, then this will work just as you need it to. A few things in this book are a barn (of course), detached garage, storage building, and coops.
Also an infinite supply of lumber. I can’t imagine being able to afford to use solid wood so casually that you can have massive portions hidden away behind overlapping pieces.
Great work but I’m nervous watching the guy smoking while sawing on an unanchored chopsaw on the floor in shorts and bare feet in a room full of sawdust and varnished wood and then tossing his cigarette. But kudos on the workmanship!
I have told my husband that he needed to win the lottery. This way we can build a huge house and have Mr. Van and his team to fly over to build such a wonderful living room, plus any other room he would choose. I would have loved to see this stained to maybe a cherry or walnut. Either way this is the most stunning wood work I have ever seen!!!!

It's amazing how Asian's in general prefer to work on the floor rather than at work benches. There work is first class as well. They must get a lot of splinters working in their bare feet, but that is their way.
You have to understand these workers are not wealthy, they are not highly paid like that in the west, so shoes is a premium. Also, it's very humid, and their barefoot traction is way better than many.
We need to be more sustainable 😅: a trunk that is cylindrical is cut into a square section and when we have a square section, it is turned to make a cylinder, wasting a large amount of wood...
Here in Brazil, the laws prevent the cultivation of wood a lot, as long as it is forest management, do you also have these types of laws in your country?
I'm from Florida, I've done almost everything with no shoes, literally everything.... but bracing a piece of trim while using a miter saw just isn't one of those things lol. Yikes. This job looked nice at the finish.
