A LITTLE ABOUT ME: I'm Dean Wolfe, a mostly self-taught Canadian guitarist/composer/multi-instrumentalist/singer/producer/performer. I started out as a full time musician on the road at age 17 for two years, but went part-time ever since while holding day careers including as a chef and in spiritual health care while raising a family.
I've recorded hundreds of my own songs- many being used in media and award winning documentaries etc. I've been in several bands including a prog/jazz fusion act nFuze, performing in International Jazz festivals and jazz clubs. I abandoned the prog genre more or less back in the 1990s but have returned to it now with vigour a full 30 years later- so much prog I've ignored and quite frankly didn't have any idea about. My own prog band was rejected by record labels as "too progressive' in the late 80s, so i detoured into grunge, pop and alternative instead (then folk and acoustic fingerstyle guitar and ambient electric as well).

The previous two Asterism EPs, 'GUERNICA' and 'GUERNICA + a' were very serious, progressive and technical.
Great stuff.
For this upcoming EP, they all chose favorite anime theme songs, and it looks like they had a lot of fun recording them.

I hope they get lot of new fans because the result is very lame. I check out the other songs they will cover and they are all this kind of poppy forgettable sounding. They are so good but this thing feels like they are regressing five years back. At least they should have made the song heavier or more jazz but they keep the original vibe, so for me there was no point in made the cover. Is sad their label is putting money in promoting them only with this kind of bland pop style and not with the great Guernica. They even drop four good songs (those of Guernica + a) as unneded wich plus Elegy and the two vocals show they had material enough for a new original album, but good music dont convince executives to invest money. They only see a group of cute boys and girl and sell that, quality is not important. If you check the official channel, this video has a lot more of views than their other videos and several nmusic japanese sites are talking about and linking this video (yes those are paid journalist)

Cool track. You should really try the instrumental version of "Unravel", which is for me a step further.
World class and highly talented musicians. One of my favorite band all around right now.
