Brand new animation by Masters students at Northumbria University. Died For Love (trad / arr. A McNally), taken from Mount The Air by The Unthanks Buy Mount The Air at www.the-unthanks.com
I just watched this band on jools Holland and have been checking out a few tunes, this is just magic... the choice of vocal chords in the melody is so invitingly dark...
A bald young farmer courted me He gained my heart my liberty He gained my heart with a free good will And i must confess that i love him still I wish i wish but its all in vain I wish i was a maid again But a maid again that never can be Since that young farmer lay still with me I wish my baby little was born and smilin on his fathers knee And i was dead and in my grave With the green grass growin all over me There's a bird that sits in yonders tree Some say hes blind and cannot sing Oh i wish it being the same with me When first i met with your company But a marble stone at my head and feet But a turtle white dove To let the world know that i died for love
Interdimensional wandering is so pleasant ,the fools call it imagination haha, how they little they know of the beautiful worlds that exist beyond this one,for the pure in heart.
Hi ladies. I love your voices and harmonies. I would love to hear you sing a song called The River, written by the late Dave Shannon and performed by him and Fiona Simpson when they performed in the folk group Therapy in the late 70s. I have tried to find it online without success. But you may know better than me where to look. It's about a factory worker who escapes on a weekend by fishing in the river and going to the pub for a "pint and a sandwich". I hope you can find it.
I like this explanation best, Mercury Saturn. She can't bear a future without him or his child. How do you explain the rocket scene? A mysterious, beautiful and tragic film. Congrats to the university team and of course the wonderful Unthanks.
I just discovered this band and they are bloody brilliant. Their music is so beautiful.
Mount the air is definitely their best album. There isn't one bad song on the whole album.
Just can't help but get emotional every time I listen to this song.
Becky Unthank..........what a voice!

isobel clark *bold* not bald 😊
Thanks for typing this out, but I'm sure the second word should be "bold". Some places even use that as the title.
@@ShireWitch A Northumbrian accent is lovely to hear, especially as I'm in Australia and rarely hear a northern accent.
Isn't it a bold young farmer?
‘bold’
stunning stuff.................... x

Animation gets in the way of the brilliant record.
If ur on an upper, that’ll sort u 👌😂
It's sad, but it didn't make me cry. It's just... I don't get it. Did she poison her cup of tea? ?_?
yes but who is she living with...the wrong man?
Melinda Lemmon Idek...
The thing was that I was thinking about this video yesterday, but I watched it 8 months ago.
She lost her man. She commits suicide at the end to be reunited with him. That's why there's a man next to her in her bed at the end.
