91% percent works fine in the Bobcat System, you just need to remove the pot after boiling. Soot will form when burning the last 2-3 ml. Diluting isopropyl down to a lower percentage is fairly common (for example, HEET in the red bottle). Some people have been using the ISO-Clean stove with denatured alcohol with good results. Best regards - Jon
You're correct sir. People think we can get denature alcohol everywhere. I live in a third world country where denature alcohol, heet ect... is impossible to find. Having a portable stove capable or running different types of fuel is a great idea. Nelson
@kphifer1 The ISO-Clean stove will burn denatured alcohol in the open air (no windscreen). When you add a windscreen, you increase the internal temperature and that can cause the stove to thermally run away (burn too hot, too fast and not in control. Very bad). I do not recommned using DA.
Try everclear 95% and 190 proof grain alcohol. Almost every liquor store has it and a pint will last a long time. It burns as good as Heet and allot better then iso.
I think that you are missing basic point. There are very few stoves that are capable of burning rubbing alcohol.without creating soot. The ISO-Clean stove is one of the few that do work well. Additionally, it will burn Everclear. Rubbing alcohol is easier to buy and a whole lot cheaper.
when smokeeater copied tinnys stove tinny was not very happy at all, but when tinny copied your stove Jon and then gave the dimensions away tinny though nothing of it, so I have been giving him a hard time over it, although he keeps deleting my comments... ha ha. Thanks for sharing Jon and congrats on achieving what others could not.
I've watched a couple of your videos on this stove and I don't think I've actually seen you explain how you get it to burn clean. Does it have to do with the design or the metal being used? Sorry if you've already explained this before.
It has to do with the design of all of the ports as well as the gap between the stove and the pot. Carefully watch as the pot is placed on top of the stove to see what I mean.
+FlatCatGear Ah ok, I see. One last question, could you tell me the width of the ISO stove? I need to know if it will nest with my 8 oz fuel bottle. If it's the same width as my cat can stove then it will.
The diameter (OD) is 2.7 inches. The Multi-Fuel 1.0 needs a 1.75" potstand. The Multi-Fuel 2.5 has a built in stand but you will not be able to nest anything inside the stove.
Thanks for contributing to the body of stove knowledge here on YT.

Nice video, thanks for the elaboration

Thanks for the update. Very informative. Tinny gets all bent out shape on too many things. He's out of shape now about cults.

For the ISO-Clean stoves, we recommend 90% isopropyl. 70% will work, but you will need additional fuel and it takes longer. Best regards - Jon

@BrokenAeroVT Smut? Smoot? Soot? Stoichiometric?

Will this stove also burn denatured alcohol as well?

+FlatCatGear Thanks for responding. Do you think this could be replicated using the yellow cat can? (fancy feast)
Nope, Aluminum is way too conductive for this design. Been there, done that.

@deanznz Well, I guess that tells you something about a persons character.
