I have the original 3100a and it's my go to basher when I just want to beat the snot out of something and not worry about breaking it. I take it on trails, to the skate park, to the beach.... It can't be stopped. Except the time I drove it INTO the lake but I dried it out and it was fine. I beat it like it owes me money and it's never broken a single part.
HBX are underrated, they've been producing some great smaller (grom size) RC's for years. This car looks cool and if it's anything like the 16889 and 18859 they are pretty bullet proof on 2s. Perfect for Garden/Backyard fun
I have the pro version of the 16890 and even on 3s bullet proof. Changed only esc and trasmitter and lost count of bashing hours it has on all stock gear and parts! Only front bumper broken due to "fights" with my other hbx on the hands of little daughter.
I like the electronics upgrades all around. However I think the trailing arm rear suspension and the body shell with dual rear spare tires of the previous model is cooler.
Looks excellent, quite the Grompetition!! I am LOVING the 3100a(only $115 on amazon). Bought it specifically for the solid rear axle. Pre runner is a special thing and we need more.
I just put that Brushless motor in my brushed 2995, with a hobbywing quicrun esc, and used 15K losi grease in the front diff, and Losi 5k grease in the rear, the 2995 is a well made RC, Im surprised they discontinued the 299A.
Looks like another solid truck from HBX,,, our older 2996a took a genuine pounding for many packs before i had to repair it. only thing i would say is i personally think 1/12 is as small as we will go as that size difference makes performance much better,,, as always though really enjoyable to watch your channel. :)
I’ve been watching your channel since the beginning and I can’t recall any RC crashes or ANY damage to an RC. I have a distant memory about a small boat running into a machete but I’m pretty sure that was purely accidental.
Nice one! Pretty good truck for the money from what I can see man! Love how much you laugh and carry on it makes it fun to watch always great entertainment! I grabbed a Mojave grom and I’m loving the small scale short course style. Happy New year brotha! Thanks !
When it comes to silly fun with itty-bitty toy trucks, I prefer ANGER! That said, trucks this small are always going to be better at lower speeds, on terrain that's free of sticks and rocks (think manicured 1:16 course). Unfortunately, that kind of running isn't the most exciting in video reviews, and I think that a lot of smaller vehicles are overlooked for that reason. This thing rips, especially in the skatepark. I do have to say that I really appreciate that they make/made a full solid-axle trophy truck in small scale. Thanks for the great review Aaron!
Im kinda agreeing with others, i like the axle on the 3100A, its different! The 3100a needs an LSD for the rear axle though. Can you do a review on the new HNR Foxhound? Looking at the pictures, its not a copy paste of the Werewolf.
Can’t put my finger on it, but it didn’t feel like you put your heart and soul into beating this one….I dunno maybe it’s just me. 😂 Awesome shake down dude! Happy New Year Aaron! 🎉🙌🥳🎆🥂😎
Haiboxing was doing so good with their 2 trucks that had a solid rear axle and then they had to go ahead and put out the same old junk that every single freaking RC company puts out a “Wanna-Be Trophy/Short Course/Stadium/Desert truck that isn’t ”. WHY WHY WHY? They should keep going with the solid rear axle trucks.🤷🏻♂️
It's not like they discontinued the other one. This one's gonna handle better and be tougher. Not a realistic, no. But that's what the OTHER ones for. You make it sound like someone slaughtered your first born 😂
Wow, lighten up man. They make both so buy the other one. It's just different driving characteristics. Same with for example Mojave vs UDR. Both are really good but with a different approach.
@@woutervanwijk4369 true, but I was so hoping that they would dive deeper into the solid rear axle T Trucks and start busting out some really sweet Trophy Trucks but it seems that was short lived and they’re back to making that tired old 4 wheel independent suspension nonsense again.👎🏼
I don't undstand why people say this --- its not the receiver!! An Rx can operate wet just fine as long as the antenaa's signal emission is remaining dry-ish and ABOVE water. In RC cars the usual failure in water is within the ESC, or the SERVO. The servo can back emit a shorted current into the RX which i think leads people to believe their RX is failing. And in the ESC usually the first part to fail in water is the BEC function -- which also may short or cut power to the Rx causing Rx and/or signal failure, causing you to beleive the receieve failed in water. Go ahead and run a fully waterproof esc, and fully waterproof servo (i mean IP68 waterproof -- IP67 is not actually full-on waterproof even though all the brands are claiming those words around it, its just not true. Look for the "waterghost" series of servos for true IP68 waterpoofness in your steering setup -- or take apart the servo and use conformal eposy inside all its electronics and put it back together, those are the only 2 ways really to get FULL waterproof servos), and for the ESC, it can only be IP68 again if you use go ahead and coat it with conformal epoxy fully, or if the manufactureer already did this. Today luckily we are getting good legit waterproof ESC's on the market that are fully interanlly coated with conformal epoxy -- although it can wear out in time. Anyways --- go ahead and run a full waterproof ESC and Servo and submerge your RX in water and keep the top of the antenna above water ---- everything will still work!!!!! :)
Cool looking new little basher truck you got there I look forward to seeing you get your hands on one of those Arrma Grom 223s BLX RC's weather being the "Mojave" or the"Typhoon?" someday? Happy New Year Aaron I hope your holidays went well for you?😊😊
I watched your video on the sg216 max I bought it an in like 4 days it began driving on its own, when i tried it on day 5 it would only turn left and the car accelerates on it own, can even drive the thing no more, keep in mind this is my first rc car ever, this just broke my spirt for the hobby
That's a bummer dude, I've been there! Unless you got it wet somehow, it shoulda like the ESC/Receiver needs to be replaced. Start here tho - Did you check the dual rate knobs on the transmitter? If they accidentally got moved from the zero position, the car will do what you are saying it does. If you move those back to center and it's still not working, you should msg the seller. If it's faulty, you should be able to get a replacement.
@disciplinerc I'm from a remote place ,where I'm from they do not send back items once you order, even if it's faulty there not going to send it back, the D/R knob it set to the middle, put as soon as the car is powered on the front wheels emediatly locks left even if I try to move it to the right it won't move
I like it, but I still think I prefer the 3100A V2. I don't plan on bashing it all that hard, so I think it would just be a cool little scale ripper with that solid axle. Dumb question, and I am pretty sure I know the answer, but do either of them have hex hardware or just Tomleys... I mean Phil's.
It seems to me they were trying to make a Mojave Grom clone. It kinda screams it seeing how they got rid of the solid rear axel and made it like your average 4 wheel independent suspension truck. Even the paint is similar. Huge price difference, but does anyone think I'd be better off just getting a Grom in the first place? Or, a Rlaarlo AM-D12? I don't know. Anyway you slice it, it's still a pretty cool truck.
Hello Discipline RC! Can you help me with something, please? I have a question: Witch is the best brushless rc car that I can buy from the internet with maximum 100 dollars? Thank you very much!!🙂👍
That is one of the most tankiest 1/16 i think ive ever seen for that pricetag…..bee tee dubs i think without the decals it has more of pre-fab prerunner look to it and looks crazy good….the decals definitely look good but imo without them clean Heres to a Great year my friend and many more great vids (need more 8-bit sounds wink wink) 🤣
It’s easier to work on, faster, body is thicker than Haiboxing and your gears won’t strip after a few runs since they come standard with OIL FILLED diffs and sintered steel gears. And they handle better. They already do 35+ mph on 2s which is about the same or higher as the Haiboxing on 3s.
@ hey I’m a arrma guy , I was at lhs when granite grom came out . They told me everyone coming back with strip diffs . Tbh I thought they were exaggerating because they prefer traxxas . I didn’t buy one than but year later and had box 📦 with 600 arrma groms and hop ups , I got traxxased 😝 . Thing is some of these Chinese cars really are great for the money . I also push the groms to people for the reasons you mention. I got riarrlo rally mjx hyper go pretty amazing for the money 💰
Too bad the company uses the lowest grade chinesium metal they can find for their drive line parts. Had several hbx trucks and all the metal whore out in no time. By my experience with hbx trucks. They are budget Chinese junker's. I have tried all the Chinese junker's out there. Rlaarlo makes the best Mini bashers at this time by a longshot.
Sweet hat bro, not too far away from me. Goonies never say die!
Ordered mine after watching this video last week. Patiently waiting for it to complete its journey across the pond.

Those shocks do look qualifies when you were dropping it on the table lol.
👍👍
Cool truck for the money , you were a little rough on the little guy 😅
HBX puts out some really nice models. I’d like to see this newer one with a gyro and see how it compares apples to apples.
Perfect video to watch while having morning coffee

Fantastic bashing and review, dude!!! 😃
Happy new year!
Stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
Very cool and fun truck!
🐻❄️🏆🐼👌🏻
Nice Unboxing and Review my Friend!!!
So much moisture!
I’m surprised you didn’t see that little car sized pebble on your speed run 😂
Excellent all round.
👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼

@@bwest6275 Same here! Solid rear axle and trailing arms was the cooler version for sure
Just like the V1, fun but flippy! I like the improvements & awesome review as always
Happy New Year Aaron! And damn you for making me spend $125 right off the bat
The play is more exciting!
WAY more exciting!! 😜
Very nice truck

Indeed! 😊👍

Yea I got a 3100a v2 for 112 on AliExpress, bought specifically for the axle to be a trophy truck.
Haiboxing seems legit, I've been ordering random body shells directly from their factory they have great customer service.
Looks like Haiboxing has a winner!
The editing makes these videos more enjoyable to watch good job

Haha great bashing and review! As always! They probably changed the chassis to compete with the Arrma Mojave Grom. LOL
Nice! I put Arrma mojave grom wheels n tires on my 3100A n made it handle better.

First time watching and you sound so much like rc adventure 😅 I can't unhear
This was an excellent, abusive test and a very good review. I thought it held up well other than the body. It's a very tempting buy. Great job!
Nice one! Pretty good truck for the money from what I can see man! Love how much you laugh and carry on it makes it fun to watch always great entertainment! I grabbed a Mojave grom and I’m loving the small scale short course style. Happy New year brotha! Thanks !
Another awesome video Aaron 👏🏻👏🏻
Happy New Year to you and your family 🙏🏻
Whats up man another great video can't wait for 2025
Only just found this channel. Really enjoying the content. Happy new year to 😁
great video. Looks like its using the WLTOYS 124019 drive shafts. They are pretty damn big and chunky and durable.
You never disappoint! Great video
Happy new year!!!
the fact that they got rid of the solid axle makes it just like any other random basher now. It's not a desert truck anymore
I have to agree, now if Traxxas made a 1/16 UDR 🤔
Awesome 👌 nice little truck 😊
Another Awesome video! Happy New Year!!!!👍👍👍👍
the brushless Mojave Grom we have at home

Love those little trucks. Got myself an Anger for Christmas, but weather here in Germany is complete shitty...so I have to be patient.
Ah nice! You'll love it...when the weather clears 😬👌
Hello Aaron and happy new year 🎉.
I have a question for you : can i put i 3s battery with 1 plus millimeter in lenght ?

Thanks your my favorite youtuo

Should start organizing a broke to built style rc contest 🤔
Not a bad idea

I dont think this one has a gyro....why it's newer......
1st video in 2025 starting with a banger smaller scale basher
Now they have a 3103A ???? Yes supposedly newer than this one, and obviously newer than the 3100A & 3100A v2
Wait and you use the same cut wtf I'm confused 😂
I have no idea what you are talking about bro 😅
It's cool, but for me there's no reason to get this when the new brushless Mojave grom exists
A hundred buckaroos is the reason , to some that’s everything and this might even be better in short run
Is it clear that the new Grom is any better than this, other than ease of finding parts at the local hobby shop?
I own a brushless Mojave grom, I bought the 3100a recently just for the axle, got it on AliExpress for 112, 3S, and gyro

Mojave Grom better
The old model didn't handle anywhere near as good as the 223s blx grom. Is this one better handling or is it just a fun basher with okay handling?
