I bet that this is a sequel to Punch Out. It would explain why Bald Bull felt the need to wear a mask. He was so embarrassed after losing to a much smaller opponent that he felt that he couldn't show his face to the public, only to be exposed by the same guy in arm wrestling.
It's hard to catch the money too. This is a dual screen game, one screen is above the other. And there is a gap between them, so the money bag disappears for a bit before it shows up on the bottom screen.
I love that frank jr just goes “ay hold on can you wait one second” and you just have to go “aight ok catch to breath man” before attempting to attack you with fire
I heard that after you win a certain number of times, the contest ends because the host has run out of prize money. I almost thought that was going to happen here.
For what it's worth in the Wii game when fighting Bald Bull occasionally Doc Louis will say a line referencing the game, so they're at least aware of it.
@@TsunogaiDanshaku because donkey kong is a monkey and ape3 is a robot monkey joking aside, I wanted to see some character from arm weatling in a punch out game, I even thought of a kind of oriental circuit with dragon chan, kabuki, piston hondo and Hoy Quarlow

@PiroKUSS The one that came later must look like the one that came first. Not the other way around. How do you get lost reading less than 15 words for context?
I’ve only seen this arcade cabinet once in my life. I don’t remember where it was because it was a very long time ago, but I just know that I lost big time. It’s a shame i haven’t been able to find it since then because I wanna play it again.
I've never seen it in person. It would definitely be fun to try. One day I'll go to a classic arcade that has this and will definitely play it a bit. If anyone knows of arcades that has this game, then please post where.
The only time I remember seeing it in the wild was in the back of a bar that was next to the supermarket my parents shopped at in '85. My father would let me drop a couple of quarters while he did some shopping. I was ten years old but it was the eighties so I guess it wasn't uncommon for a kid to walk into a bar just to play an arcade game.
Never played this game but the sound effects remind me of a few different games for the NES. NES Joust pause sound and Pinball’s too with the bonus sounds, Texas Mac’s steam coming out his nose sounds like the punchout boxing glove intro, Ape III various punches in punchout also the magnet getting stolen sounds like an enemy punch landing in punchout, crowd cheering sounds similar-ish to punchout’s? When the money bag is thrown; it similar to the KO noise in punchout and finally the jingle for catching the money sounds similar to the punchout intro. I’m sure there’s others I missed. This was a wonderful stroll down memory lane.
Or a remake but it’s to bare bones alone to be a single game if they re made a punch out this could come with it remade would be cool I mean I guess the same people made it the characters look similar and announcer so it would be cool
I'm sorry but when I see that man with the bag of money I can only see a pizza lover throws a book at him, then begin to write in said book of owning him being the master of ownage, then the man not phased of the book being thrown ask, "Where's my money?"
The way Frank Jr. flexes on you when you lose gives me a clue: Frank Jr. is actually Super Macho Man in horror movie make-up. You know? Because he's from Hollywood, CA and he mostly had been cast as the fire-breathing Son of the Frankenstein Monster? Pretty weird, but it's possible.
I love how mask x’s poster sprite is literally just bald bull with a mask on. (I know they are the same character, but the fact that they didn’t make a new sprite)
2:04 Oh it’s fine when he tears an arm off in arm wrestling but when I do it, I’m “not human” and I need to be “tested for doping”, whatever that means

Imagine fighting cowboy, a sumo wrestler, a boxer, a robot, and the undead just to lose by not catching the bag
And they say the WVBA is wild
The part where the host laughs at you and crushes you with the bag has a slightly creepy feel to it. Like you beat the game, but not the master
It's hard to catch the money too. This is a dual screen game, one screen is above the other. And there is a gap between them, so the money bag disappears for a bit before it shows up on the bottom screen.
I think the laughing sounds is from the player's characters going a bit crazy for being hit in the head with the money bag ^^
All the voices make it feel so surreal really
