I was excited to finally jump back into the game with the PS5 pro and the 1.004 patch and I was so disappointed. It does not look any better to me. I honestly think it might look a little worse? Does it use PSSR now?
Sadly it will always be between 30 and 60sec. It costs a lot of time and GB to make these fps videos. And the software used for it works best if it's max a minute long uncut.
I tried it out a little bit and I noticed that the resolution seems to be a bit higher in some of the more demanding areas of the game like the plains. However the frame rate was a little iffy though a bit better.
When you do pixel count test do you do multiple tests or just one ? Df said the internal res is around 1440p for the upscale on this game and u say 1080 on ur side.
The game looks very blurry and muddy on ps5 pro. They said it's basically Quality Mode @ 60fps with PSSR, but visual settings are definitely lower than the QM on the base PS5. The only difference is slightly better image stability, and that's it. Bare bones upgrade in this case.
Maybe it's my youtube or my eyes, but this game looks graphically like it's from 2017 or something. And yet the specs requirements are quiet demanding. So many games are like this. But you're playing the game Maurice, what do you think?
I thought the same thing, at times it looks like a last gen PS4/Xbox One title, and other times it can look really good in my opinion. I believe that this game has forced ray tracing, which is why the game is so demanding.
I’ll still take Outlaws on the Pro over the base console any day. The image was so soft and blurry on the base, you couldn’t even make out the faces of NPC and Kay during normal gameplay because of that. Now on the Pro you can and textures are looking more sharp as well. The image quality on the base was not good enough for me te keep playing while now it actually is playable. Of course better hardware isn’t magically gonna change the graphics from Outlaws to the same quality as Horizon for example and I agree the visual jump isn’t as noticeable as how it is in FF7 Rebirth, but it is definitely a step up from the base console
it's a shame. they can make divison 2 look super crisp and clean 5 years ago, and then years later on the mid-gen upgrade console, this game looks pretty shitty. no reason for it.
Play that game on PC ,all cranked up and you will see how good the game can look like. It is so demanding that it needs a 5090 for the best experience.

You spent the entire video in indoor locations, but exteriors were there's foliage have seriously bad artifacting/flickering, the jungle planet is a visual mess textures braking foliage shimmering/flickering like crazy shadows completely unstable it's not just bad it's game breaking unplayable, PSSR is worse than FSR in this game and FSR was already a nightmare
@sirgareth5283 you said I was wrong to begin with. My setup is worth way more than your TV, and I have a Qd Oled tv. Also, the game is bland in any case on any screen. That's an observation. I don't like it go and cry

I am playing it on a base Ps5 and the graphics disapointed me. The game feels like a PS4 game. Gotham knights, BF2042, outriders, Ac Origins, ghost recon wildlands and even The firts Decendent that is a free game have better graphics. I am no joking, ghost recon wildlands from almost 10 years ago have better polished graphics than this game

Disable cinematic lens, looks better, imo. They even talk about it in their 1.04 features video.

I do between 50 and a 100 pixel counts with Pixel ML a piece of software that can detect true resolutions. Where DF does it by hand and only a few.

One thing is for sure we can’t expect all Dev’s to optimize games to take advantage of the hardware I expect a lot of them to take the lazy route
PC doesn't need the effort of the developers. The game just looks and runs better by default with better hardware. Imagine that.
Take off full screen and you’ll get a cleaner picture. Not ideal, but it works.
