GSC removes URls only for six months, will we have to repeat the process after six months? i removed multiple amp URLs and removal expired within a month. This is so frustrating. Can you educate us about some method for permanent URL removal?

It's been months since I removed AMP, but URLs are still working with ?amp=1 in the end. No 404 error is showing and even pages are not in AMP look. But the search console is showing not indexed to all amp URLs. When I search AMP URLs in google, it is showing Anything to worry about?
Hi Thanks for the information. I use wordpress and rankmath and followed the process, but seems redirection is not working either through rankmath or htaccess... amp pages are still going to 404.. any suggestions?

In redirection module in Rankmanth, add your source and destination URLs as
Regex Source URL : (.*)/amp
Destination URL : /$1
