If you put multi cams to form a roler then run pins over them you could paint or put cotton wool on the ends of the pins to simulate turnulance ate the back of the boat. Roller turns running over surface 👍🇬🇧
Well that is why I use the Magnorail System - Faller just don’t seem to have got it right - I only use the houseboat when at exhibitions to keep the kids entertained - and some adults too!

This technoligy is very amazing in a modelers world adding this to a train layout using trucks to model container centainer MERSK ships and rail. Have you patented this sir I surely would see if you can get funding to patent this hobby stores could use a boost.

I made a UV line tracker robot in the 90's with Edmund Scientific parts, that would allow the user to put an invisible line for a car without magnets and wire. Neat stuff like when Z scale was big.
I think this system works better for small boats. The movement of the houseboat is very unnatural. The steering is in the front while in real life it's at the back a.k.a, a rudder. Unless you imagine a big propeller in the bow..... Also the speed is mind boggling. It looks more like a speed boat than a house boat.

why not a lake with real water and real floating boats? pulled by a line in the magnorail top magnet at the bottom ?
Humidity is a big issue. That and water leaves mineral crystals and salts as it evaporate. It has been used successfully by some, but it is very high maintenance.
Hi Matt -If you watch a few more of my videos you will understand that I am not a fine scale modeller and have no real artistic skills. I only come up with the ideas so the more talented people can build on that. I just love seeing the yachts going around the course along with the sailboarders
The drive unit is specially geared for the boat so it cruises around at a set speed. It would be great if you could slow the trucks down a bit. On of my Faller buses which takes replaceable batteries, has a fast and slow switch which is good if it is on the layout by itself, otherwise the trucks are constantly catching it.
Thanks for the response! There is no slow and fast switch on my bus that's the standard rechargeable type. I will have to figure out a way for a realistic momentum and traffic control on my Faller system without burning a hole in my pocket. :)
Sir please see Bachmann EZ app for i/phone Ipad and sir your idea and this ez app would incorporate all the mediums you are running up to 60 assign name, color , boats all controlled from bluetooth any item.This is a biggy better than sound in trains hell you blow a blue cars horn by ipad.All seamless operation Im amazed.

The wire is the guide wire for the Faller system- their boat is self propelled so you can’t change its speed once it is going - just stop and start it with electro magnets. The boat follows the. Wire but will continue fairly straight if their is a small break which is how it goes over the top of the Magnorail system.

It's looking pretty good. A larger layout would help put the boat in scale, but getting it all to work is the real issue isn't it? Regards, Solomon
