You do not need silverwood/blooms to reach the Greatwood. After some research & testing, I can confirm that you are *definitely* able to reach the Greatwood tree using a single ender pearl. There are at least 4* possible routes to acquiring ender pearls, ranked roughly from best to worst: 1. Get an enderman spawn egg (3.36% per animal bag) and actually have it drop a pearl 2. Reach the dungeon chest at X1243 Y21 Z664 which contains Ender-Lily seeds. This is actually shockingly close to the biodome; you'd just need to clear a ~22 block distance. The skeleton spawner will also unlock skeletons for loot bags. 3. Somehow get a working mob farm (need to fix the mob spawning problem first) 4. Find gold ore and a diamond to complete "Basic Materials" in the Geology tab, unlocking ender pearls for purchase. (Note: There may not be any accessible gold/diamond ore.) *not including misc sources like lootbags and meutoite Naturally, Option 2 should open up if you manage to reach the tree, due to the bloom and saplings. Needless to say, you're gonna want that skeleton dungeon either way, especially if the tainted mob despawn issue persists. I was able to reach the Greatwood tree from the biodome's vicinity by pearling from build height, though aiming is... difficult. This is fully achieveable only if your rules allow you to cause an entity to enter tainted land. But YOU never enter it, so I think it's above board! It's sorta cheesing the spirit of the challenge, though. I've yet to really properly explore this, but you may be able to perform similar jumps in other parts of the world. My mind wandered to ender pearl cannons, but since this is prior to 1.13, and how you (presumably) don't have gunpowder to infinitely renew yet, I figure this is (probably) infeasible. I hope you prove me wrong. also sorry about the multiple comments love your videos keep it up you delightful maniac (also I haven't a clue if you'll read this. Hopefully you do. It's been a few days and I've spammed your comments a bit, so probably not. I'll probably post this comment on your next video with any updates or other findings if I have any)
(spoilers) In my scripting for the second video I actually debated using pearls, and decided that even if it was allowed, it kind of ignores the spirit of the challenge. That's fine though, I like my way of doing it better - really sets the "Goose" vibe.
@NeuroticGoose Thank you for the response! (Responding to spoilers) I'm curious to see what you've come up with then. There isn't an obvious way to get a hold of shimmerleaf needed for blooms, or more silverwood saplings, or a purity focus. I didn't look very hard, but still!
I really enjoy your style of narration. The humour is well-crafted and your delivery strikes a good balance between dryness and levity. Plenty of youtubers that make long-form content like this end up with a "number 15 burger king foot lettuce" mode of speech, but it's clear you have the ability to keep things lively even when reading off of a (thorough, well-organized and witty) script.
minor correction on the biodome - the silverwood tree isnt actually protecting much of your dome its a dawn totem(?) stuffed under the bedrock floor from what ive heard on the blightfall discord (might be some other anti taint block tho)
That actually makes a lot of sense. The area of effect of the silverwood node is too small for it to actually do much of anything so I knew there was something weird going on, but never figured out the exact mechanic.
Huh. There's probably a way to go below bedrock. Is this against the no cheating rule? Well, technically he said cheating, and jank exploits aren't _technically_ using cheats.
Damn, I also tried building a mob farm in this pack. It's good to hear that it wasn't just my incompetence preventing it from working, but instead inherent limitations that even a Minecraft genius cannot circumvent. My self-confidence is returning!
I never realized how badly I needed a turbo nerd breaking old nostalgic Minecraft modpacks until the Goose man came into my life Thank you Goose man!! 😁
While it most likely counts as cheating, there is a hilariously easy and early to pull off dupe glitch that I will describe for the interested viewers at home : 1 - Get a filling cabinet from Extra Utilities (6 irons, 3 chests) and as many chisels from Chisel (1 stick, 1 iron; you need at least two) as you can 2 - Shove you chisels into the cabinet, displaying this usually unstackable item as a stack 3 - Retrieve your stack of chisels directly into your hotbar by hovering them with your cursor and pressing 1 4 - Open the chisel GUI with right-click and slot in whatever precious item you need duped (bread, ingots, any lootbag, as of yet unmentioned in this series Etherals Blooms, more bread...) 5 - Unstack your X chisels, open each individual chisel GUI and retrieve the X-1 stacks of additional precious item 6 - Profit Note : if I remember things properly, you can also do goofy things like get stacks of over 64 items but things start becoming unstable for obvious reasons Note 2 : you should be able to speed things up by using Thermal Expansion satchels instead of chisels

At 21:57, I would say that was an unexpected way to do the first government mandated _sleep-break,_ but I guess they didn't quite realise what kind of a "survival expert" they were hiring for this mission. At least his inheritors will be quite happy to find 576 unique kinds of NPC‐extorted seed packets in the will.
:D Thank you for playing this modpack, it is one of if not my favorite modpacks of the past. Honestly wish their were more modpacks like it based on newer versions of minecraft.
The marshmallows' aspects will be fixed in the next update. Bloodwood has metallum, though, so you could use that as your source of iron instead. It makes really good tools as well.
YAY BLIGHTFALL!! I have incredibly fond memories of this pack and the mission my friend and I undertook to convert the entire map into an ocean after we completed the purification
Given that blight changes the entire biome vertically across an entire chunk, if my own experience is anything to go by i expect there to be many accidental "blighted land" enterings just by the merit if there being a single tainted node hidden in an underground cave a kilometer under the ocean. XD I absolutely love this modpack, a quintessential combination of carefully crafted modpack and adventure map, and I am so happy to see it getting so much attention in the modern day ^.^
I actually started playing this modpack to "avoid spoilers," whatever my brain means by that, and now that I'm anti-spoiled enough I can unlock *technological ascendancy* by way of goosing it up. These technologies you use are actually going to be really helpful in my run since I am weirdly averse to going outside in all the taint, and would rather stay at home and cook Thaumcraft. How... disturbingly realistic. Thanks!
A tip about TC: If you put the vanilla workbench into your crafting grid, it gives you a TC crafting bench. This bench has three main differences from the vanilla bench: One, it holds items placed into it when the GUI is closed, essentially functioning as a 9 slot chest (though you clearly don't have any lack of storage). Two, if there is a chest adjacent to it, it'll allow you to access that chest while crafting with the table (Works with the various Iron Chest mods, but I forget if Blightfall has any of those). Three, it upgrades both itself and all connected TC tables (Parts bench, Tool Station, etc.) with tabs along the top of the GUI that allow you to quickly switch between tables without needing to exit the GUi, find the table you need, and open THAT GUI.
I am so ready for this series, I've always had a interest in Blightfall (it was one of the first modpacks I played, with Texxkit right behind it), but never managed to complete it. So far the chaos of bread, marshmellow iron, and basically peaceful mode insanity has me very interested to see where this series goes pff. Been rewatching series so this is really fun to see pop up.

this is some VERY interesting progression! and pretty darn good luck so far getting rubber and darkwood. both very good. [I totally BOTCHED getting the bloodwood, though. I planted it WAY too close to the ground, and DELETED ALL THE LEAVES. *cri* I did collect a near lifetime supply of the wood but....still. they're bigger than I remembered, or something. those darkwoods, best way to farm em is a lumberaxe...which i'm sure you're still working on getting at the point I"m watching at 22:40 so no worries.
I absolutely loved this pack back in the day! Unfortunately there hasn't been much content made about it that I've seen, let alone today, so I very much appreciate you covering this pack!
I haven't watched this yet but just wanted to mention if you were unaware (watched bigdig and on gt episode 6 so far), you can scan a placed chest (maybe any inventory?) with the thaumometer to instantly scan anything inside of it as well
Honestly, thank you for playing Blightfall. I've been stuck on this pack for multiple mini hyperfixations, and I've never gotten close to finishing it. With this new series, it should help me out in areas that i was too stupid to understand what to do.

Glad to see you olaying this. Never got around to playing it before and when you had said you might do your next playtrhough on it, it inspired me to do a blind playthrough. Some small bits of cheese I have found while playing through the modpack are that Tinker's Construct Frying Pans are pretty good at baking large amounts of Flour into Bread (Though because of the finicky way they work some of that bread is always turned into Toast) and Bonemeal can be a cheap and easy way to make Bondhandle for early Ti ker's weapons.
Loving your videos as always goose! Can’t believe its only been 9 months since the first one. Youre one of my favorite creators and i hope your channel keeps growing!!
It seems perfectly realistic that when you took a dome that was clearly a write off and turned it into an artisanal bakery delivering fresh bread every day, of course the space ship crew are going to be delighted to gobble up every loaf. They've had nothing but space rations until now.
Oh thaumcraft aspects. Get a system that puts aspects on items based on their ingredients and a marshmallow that takes a metal pot or metal bucket of milk and you end up with some... interesting results.
This is going to be just as fun. Thank you so much for this, and I can only hope you snap Crash Landing, Hubris and/or Regrowth over your knee like the old packs.
Oh heck yeah, blightfall is one of the packs I’ve most wanted to experience but that I’ve just never been able to get into, I’m genuinely so hyped for this
I forgot about this fun modpack. Thanks for unintentionally helping me remember about it. I hope you do well in your challenge and that this pack is fun for you as it was for me when I last played it. :D
The clay is more scalable than it looks at first. You can build a 1x1x1 smeltery with a smeltery controller, seared tank, drain and 2 more seared blocks then start stuffing cobble into it to get liquid seared stone you can cast into blocks with a seared casting table or casting basin. Throw in a bit of lead you can get a basic fluiduct extracting the liquid seared stone into a barrel or the casting basin directly with a hopper to pull the stone out and a hopper to load the smeltery with cobble so you don't have to micromanage it.
This will be my first proprr experience with blightfall after bouncing off a few LPs of it in the past, and only otherwise finding playthroughs of it from about 8+ years ago. I was very interested in how it'd work mechanically and it's held my interest ever since I first saw gameplay. I can't wait to watch Goose beat the game's balance with a steel folding chair.
18:58 as a massive pedant I feel compelled to point out that space food is just regular food packaged and eaten in certain ways for microgravity -- the whole dehydrated ice cream thing hasn't been around since before the moon landings because we figured out that sealing some poor saps in a box with terrible food isn't very nice, and the weight savings are practically nil anyhow. Astronauts can eat in space more or less exactly how they do on Earth, with the caveat that they can't create crumbs or floating droplets and can't hold the food together with gravity

Naturally, Option 2 should open up if you manage to reach the tree, due to the bloom and saplings.
I'll probably post this comment on your next video with any updates or other findings if I have any)
(spoilers)
In my scripting for the second video I actually debated using pearls, and decided that even if it was allowed, it kind of ignores the spirit of the challenge. That's fine though, I like my way of doing it better - really sets the "Goose" vibe.
@NeuroticGoose
Thank you for the response! (Responding to spoilers)
I'm curious to see what you've come up with then. There isn't an obvious way to get a hold of shimmerleaf needed for blooms, or more silverwood saplings, or a purity focus. I didn't look very hard, but still!
@@augustinetoth8715 more silverwood saplings is possible with a moderately expensive infusion.
This reads like a Runescape chunkman challenge. God bless your soul you're going to be here for a while.
minor correction on the biodome - the silverwood tree isnt actually protecting much of your dome its a dawn totem(?) stuffed under the bedrock floor from what ive heard on the blightfall discord (might be some other anti taint block tho)
Not a totem, a squad of ethereal blooms.
Multiple ways to delete bedrock from junk multiblock trees to old vanilla piston fuckery
@@notkarma2984 yeah, it's just that vanilla glitches are boring.
Damn, I also tried building a mob farm in this pack. It's good to hear that it wasn't just my incompetence preventing it from working, but instead inherent limitations that even a Minecraft genius cannot circumvent. My self-confidence is returning!
I never realized how badly I needed a turbo nerd breaking old nostalgic Minecraft modpacks until the Goose man came into my life
Thank you Goose man!! 😁
Same, the humor is the icing on the cake!
While it most likely counts as cheating, there is a hilariously easy and early to pull off dupe glitch that I will describe for the interested viewers at home :
1 - Get a filling cabinet from Extra Utilities (6 irons, 3 chests) and as many chisels from Chisel (1 stick, 1 iron; you need at least two) as you can
2 - Shove you chisels into the cabinet, displaying this usually unstackable item as a stack
3 - Retrieve your stack of chisels directly into your hotbar by hovering them with your cursor and pressing 1
4 - Open the chisel GUI with right-click and slot in whatever precious item you need duped (bread, ingots, any lootbag, as of yet unmentioned in this series Etherals Blooms, more bread...)
5 - Unstack your X chisels, open each individual chisel GUI and retrieve the X-1 stacks of additional precious item
6 - Profit
Note : if I remember things properly, you can also do goofy things like get stacks of over 64 items but things start becoming unstable for obvious reasons
Note 2 : you should be able to speed things up by using Thermal Expansion satchels instead of chisels
Got me. Specifically bought membership for this video. We're so balling with this one!
BLIGHTFALL? IN 2024??? I love you for this
i know you upload on friday. i know, i do. i still do the happy, excited gasp when i see the notification.
funnily enough, your channel is so consistent that my all over the place phone YT notifs are consistent lol
most relatable comment here by far. goose forever
I'm gonna be honest I literally just bought membership to procrastinate my work, was incredibly not disappointed I like this new series already when we are turning marshmellows into metal
This I think was the last mod pack I tried to seriously play, can’t wait to see it broken, these series are inspiring me to maybe go back to playing modded at some point
0:47 oh you scandalous bird
I was expecting some sort of nerdy quip or future note to self, not "ᴘᴏᴏᴘɪᴇ " 😂
31:00 if any of your crew members are allergic to glucose, i think they have much bigger problems to deal with than bread
I'm a simple man - I see Minecraft from a Goose, I like it
I can't help but see the irony in Goose GIVING breadcrumbs, not eating them.
So glad this modpack is getting coverage again. Biodome Omega has been my base for every playthrough so far and it feels very nostalgic to see you set up there
I've been putting this off for as long as I could, but when I saw Blightfall I finally became a member!
out of all the old Technic modpacks, Blightfall is the one i continue returning to and hold the most fondness for, so seeing not only a Blightfall video but a challenge run got me SO EXCITED. i cant wait to watch you tear one of my favorite packs to absolute pieces and learn something new about it in the process
I am SO happy you're playing Blightfall. I've said it before, my favourite youtuber and modpack combined! Thank you!!!
I KNEW he would pick biodome omega!
It makes really good tools as well.
goose truly can turn anything into skyblock my respect
Thank you for the videos. This is perfect after getting home for my two days off of work
A new Goose series? Wow, Christmas really has come early!
XD
I absolutely love this modpack, a quintessential combination of carefully crafted modpack and adventure map, and I am so happy to see it getting so much attention in the modern day ^.^
I actually started playing this modpack to "avoid spoilers," whatever my brain means by that, and now that I'm anti-spoiled enough I can unlock *technological ascendancy* by way of goosing it up.
Been rewatching series so this is really fun to see pop up.
did you know, you can SWAT a spice of life lunch box against a CFB fridge, full of different foods, and it will AUTOLOAD the box not just with food but with foods you get the most out of! it prioritises new/undiminished foods!
this is some VERY interesting progression! and pretty darn good luck so far getting rubber and darkwood. both very good.
I have laughing out loud with this episode 😂 I love his comments on everything and the constant trash-talk about the crew 😂😂. This can only get better
I absolutely loved this pack back in the day! Unfortunately there hasn't been much content made about it that I've seen, let alone today, so I very much appreciate you covering this pack!
I am so happy to see you playing my favourite modpack, good blightfall playthroughs are so rare
While itspajamas is slowly riding a bike through the park, having nostalgia about old maps and modpacks,
Our beloved goose goes to the same park on a giant bulldozer breaking all the trees, benches and anything that was alive in there previously.
Oh man this is going to be good. Blightfall is one of my top old packs of all time.
I'd love to see goose tackle some of the other old classics as well like agrarian skies, crash landed, or the material energy series
Oh boy, I can't wait to see you break my favorite pack of all time! I am legally obligated to let you know that sewage contains the vitium aspect and can be turned into essentia via alchemical boiler. While it's not the only way one can blightlessly get their hands on vitium, it remains one of my personal favorites due to the sheer absurdity of it
Glad to see you olaying this.
Minecraft is by far the most "Kids yearn for the mines" game ever and you somehow make it even more so.
I salute you, Goose
Oh boy, time to watch one of my favorite modpacks get broken in half by a disturbingly humanoid goose with entirely too much free time
This is going to be just as fun. Thank you so much for this, and I can only hope you snap Crash Landing, Hubris and/or Regrowth over your knee like the old packs.
…oh, my god, the ship’s name is the Jaded.
It’s nostalgia acupuncture, spikes of dopamine directly into my brain.
Oh heck yeah, blightfall is one of the packs I’ve most wanted to experience but that I’ve just never been able to get into, I’m genuinely so hyped for this
Blightfall is one of my absolute favorite modpacks.
Sigh, alas, it's a sad day when the episode is over... this pack playthrough is going to be amazing, I can already tell
I forgot about this fun modpack. Thanks for unintentionally helping me remember about it. I hope you do well in your challenge and that this pack is fun for you as it was for me when I last played it. :D
OHHH YEEESSS BAAABBBYYYY!!!
Love this pack, although I never finished it. Can’t wait!!
Major victory for enjoyers of this modpack, so excited to watch this series 🎉🎉🎉
The clay is more scalable than it looks at first. You can build a 1x1x1 smeltery with a smeltery controller, seared tank, drain and 2 more seared blocks then start stuffing cobble into it to get liquid seared stone you can cast into blocks with a seared casting table or casting basin. Throw in a bit of lead you can get a basic fluiduct extracting the liquid seared stone into a barrel or the casting basin directly with a hopper to pull the stone out and a hopper to load the smeltery with cobble so you don't have to micromanage it.
Love the episode. Blight fall is such a great pack
I've not even heard of Blightfall in so long! This is so cool :D
wake up babe new neurotic goose minecraft challenge run started
he's speedrunning breaking every single modpack known to minecraft
and he's doing it fucking quick
YESS Blightfall is my favorite modpack (played it many times) so excited to see you tear it apart haha
man! with this and bigdig you're playing all my favourite OG packs from back in the day, huge rep my friend love the content
This is the video that makes me subscribe
This is how I play minecraft: aggressively make food and then go from there
18:58 as a massive pedant I feel compelled to point out that space food is just regular food packaged and eaten in certain ways for microgravity -- the whole dehydrated ice cream thing hasn't been around since before the moon landings because we figured out that sealing some poor saps in a box with terrible food isn't very nice, and the weight savings are practically nil anyhow. Astronauts can eat in space more or less exactly how they do on Earth, with the caveat that they can't create crumbs or floating droplets and can't hold the food together with gravity
I am so excited about this run and can't wait to see more!
just when I was worried that this would be a relatively normal playthrough you somehow managed to theory craft marshmallow powered iron duplication
I never played any of these modpacks at the time. Fascinating videos.
amazing, cool, saved my grandma, entertaining, fun, nice, good quality
may my support be supportful
YESSSS I LOVE BLIGHTFALLLLLL. THIS NEEDS TO BE ON A T SHIRT
why do i find this so fun to watch
Just wanted to say something about 11:15, mattocks don't count as a shovel for blocks that aren't dirt, like sand or gravel.
I have a crippling addiction to Neurotic Goose videos now, thank you
another day, another banger from my favorite goose masochist
Great to see you conquering new modpacks. Thanks for the entertainment and madness.
Oh, it renotified me. I got so excited... Non-members enjoy thoroughly!
GOOSED UP
Very nice to see the heavy restrictions the interrupt then the blast though to start breaking via some minor background unintentionally exploit
Ah oh gtnh playthrough memories
Ive heard of this mod pack but never saw much past that
Also the taint and using trees to stop it is some old memories wow
of a season 2 from eons ago
Rewatching this for the third time because I can't get enough.
"oh whats this! its my animal cruelty box!" truly terrifying line time to become a member
not going to lie, I couldnt wait and got the membership. the vids are LIT
:O Blightfall yes. I love that Modpack. Also please break it so hard it cries out for help
