I am guessing, but as the corner is the strongest part of the wall by the introduction of extra cavity ties you thus increase cross strength which in turn benefits the whole structure.
You ppl who are thinking about construction for a living take note how the mood changes when a little bad weather arrives. The chirpy giddy ends. Its horrible
Deffo depends on the person mate. I have a few screws loose but doesn’t affect my mood. No other brickies were in today but we still managed donkey lift block work 👍🫡😆
Definitely depends on the individual and the boys youre with. The crew I’m with have the best banter I’ve ever come across. Just working and laughing all day. It’s the best. Don’t care if it’s pissing down or 38degress
I lay7 courses from inside including between joists if weather ok.. Usually 2 courses minus the Brickettes and staple on top of block work gone off. Don’t fix untill on the outside
All ok charlie. Frustrating f day. I f hate workers and customers watching me working and struggling. I told them there is a pack of cards in my van .go and play cards instead of f watching me . Lol🇨🇦🏴🍻
The trowel isn't too bad, normally there will be a bricklayer on the job with a magnet on a piece of string that you lower down and retrieve the trowel. Levels are aluminium so the magnet doesn't work. Then you have to go below and cut a block out to retrieve the level. Good question.
First off I love your videos mate they are always a good watch, I’m not a brickie but love watching brick laying videos and was just wondering what are the wires sticking out of the mortar for???? Keep up the great work
Watching your videos makes me wonder why you see all these quality control videos showing sh@te brickwork that has to be demolished and done again. Keep the standards up 😉
.....then as you move into your 40's, if you are a high volume bricklayer, you'll possibly develop a bad back, or 1 or 2 🎾 elbows, or bad knees. Or possibly carple tunnel. Or all of them. And all for a slightly better than average wage. Sounds Good ye?
Bloody hell must be getting near to christmas
With the amount of vids u putting up

Couldn’t do that on my job the bricks are all different width sizes but great tip
I did forget to mention it depends on the brick aswell
Great video mate 👍 i just pop a staple through window clips to save bashing it👌
Great idea I’ll try that one 👌
Same
Just so I am in the picture. You staple the window clip to the first course block? And other courses I guess?

Staple to set out plumb first one only on first clip on inside when building outside

They’re wall ties. They basically help attach the inner and out walls to each other!
Why are they 150mm apart
Brilliant . Tips and tricks Charlie . Well done you . Fantastic videos well done to all in the gang . Super clean work. 👍
Why so many ties? and I thought it was 150mm cavity now?
Depends on when the planning went through I think, the drawings would all of been agreed before the new regs.
Site I’ve just started on cavs are 130mm

Then the dot dabber says the painter will fix it… and the painter says ‘not my job’
Remind me to never work with you on the line.
