    CJ , one of the CNA’s At a place I worked at got escorted out (by the police) for doing cocaine in a patients room. She left the bag on the table and the family found it.

    Cj, this is at a facility about 20 miles from my house! Never heard good things about the place 🥴

    Fiending for a fix can cause you to fail at better discretion too. He needs treatment for sure. I'm sure people sneak alcohol too.

    I was not expecting that 🥴
    And yes he should lose his license. He’s done this before. Putting the patient’s safety at risk.
    He is BOLD. he could’ve atleast done it in his car on break.

    He should lose his license, because he was in the room( the pt was breathing it). He could have did it outside, in the woods somewhere.

    I think he should lose it. I'm addicted to cigarettes. I have the restraint to not do it before or during my shift. I know nurses who are functioning alcoholics, but would never think to impair themselves while caring for patients

    I'm surprised that they have not been doing any drug tests on me. I have been a nurse for almost a year and I have never been tested once. I feel like all nursing staff should be tested at least 2 times a year just to be sure that no one is under the influence that have been under the radar

      If they did the test there would be no staff to help the patient.

    If this is where I think it is, The nurse can plead drug addiction and go through a treatment program and keep his liscense on a probationary status.

    • @KayDejaVu
      @KayDejaVu หลายเดือนก่อน

      Drug diversion/use will still show up on the license when you look it up. They may not lose the license but employment will be hard. It is so crazy to do that in a patient room of all places.

    It depends on which BON state he is in, some BON, especially in the south, are pretty strict.

    • @KayDejaVu
      @KayDejaVu หลายเดือนก่อน

      None of them are lax with this type of offense. Had he enrolled in a program and was found on the streets that would be different. This on the other hand is crazy. Putting the patient at risk as well as the building at risk also.

    Both wrong the patients family setting up cameras in the room and the nurse smoking in it 😔

    • @BPrincess
      @BPrincess หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      Naw the patient family is not wrong for setting up a camera. They probably did it for suspected abuse. But the facility should’ve been notified and a sign should have been placed out the patients door

      Don't let this drive you away. If you like helping people, making a change in the lives of others, nursing is a great profession to go into.
      The standards are very high, but they have to be for the safety of our patients.
      I'm retired now after 40 years in healthcare. Even being burned-out, there are countless fond memories, dozens of people who are alive because of me.
      Please ask questions if you have doubts. Nursing is a career you love to hate and hate to love, but it is well worth it.

      If you have an addiction issue go get treatment it is available for nurses through most BONs..you will keep your license under treatment and BON supervision.
