Great video showcasing this beautiful building! I got it, too, because I am obsessed with the strawberry theme. Also glad that the mat on the pink play floor is not a sticker. Like you, I cut out the stickers for the shelves instead of sticking them on, as I prefer the option of changing things around.
adorable! You could try cutting the other stickers out and leaving the backing on like you did with the shelf liners, and sticking them to the walls with poster puddy.
I love that idea!! I especially love the rainbow and hot air balloons, but I've developed an aversion to stickers after seeing the toll they can take on sets down the road, so I will try this instead. In fact I could photocopy the sticker sheet and cut them out, that may be easier. Thanks!
I love the strawberry toyshop! Oh and the figures, so cute! The accesoires are the same as the items in the white/blue toyshop. Hope I can buy it to... but there is more on my list.... Yesterday I got the banana baby's and prinses baby's in. Oh and finally the sloth family! 😊
This side-by-side is so helpful. I was all ready to buy the older toyshop version secondhand when this new version got announced and I've been waiting for a comparison video to help me decide which one to get! Usually I'm more of a fan of the natural colours on the older sets, but the way they've done the pinks is so nice and not garish at all! More thinking to do but this video will really help 😁 For the stickers, you could cut them out with the backing on and use white-tac or similar to put them up so they're easily removed, like you did with the shelves 😊
If I had neither, I'd most likely get the original Toy Shop, for what it's worth. The Strawberry Nursery is gorgeous, but novel. The colors do pop amongst the more neutral village sets, although it would fit well in the Town. I do love that it comes with figures though, and those strawberry babies are gut-wrenching cute!! I really debated too, because of the cost and how similar it is to the toy shop. But I’ve been passing on a bunch of new sets recently because I don’t like the quality or look, so when these really nice ones come out I get excited!!
THE MINI DOLLHOUSE ON THE MINI TABLE IS THE BEST PART! reminds me of when I would play with Calico Critters in the toy store on one of the little display tables, the good old days! very adorable set
I used to do that too! With a train table - a pharmacy down the street from my house had one, and my sister and I would walk there and spend hours at a time playing. Looking back, I can’t believe the staff never said anything to us, how sweet of them lol!!
That’s awesome - starting a collection is sooo fun because there are so many sets to discover!! I suggest Facebook Marketplace for the cheapest local options, people are always selling the Red Roof homes and big furniture bundles which are PERFECT for getting started, and half the price or less than retail. I would also suggest looking for black Friday deals at your local stores. Amazon has a few bargains from time to time as well. Good luck!!
I decided not to buy the strawberry babies set and the building either but after watching this video🤭....I love the details and the colors too which at first seemed very pink to me, the babies are so cute...I don't think I would put the stickers, I like to see the building like that. I like both buildings, I can't choose😅!
It was a tough call for me too, it just seemed so expensive for a re-issue. But they had to go and make it extra detailed and include exclusive figures… aggg… it was the figures that pushed me over the edge, to go with the other strawberry babies. It’s as though they are going cheap with the regular sets and the opposite direction for collectors, making adult-geared sets irresistible but pricey as heck (Lauderee, town hotel, reindeer lodge, etc, none of which I can justify). Like they have two different product lines these days. But I am glad they’re at least putting out some nice stuff! 😅
Yes, it's true, the price of adult collector sets is very high but these sets have fabulous details, it's not easy to manage and decide which ones to buy and which ones to pass on😅!
For a new collection I'd recommend the Cozy Cottage, it's the best value (get the one without the mailbox if available, it's cheaper and better); then try eBay for a good used RR Country Home bundled with furniture/critters. Also check out the Blue Roof Carport Gift Set on Amazon (if you're in the US), it's currently heavily discounted a great set!! For families, Amazon is your best bet for inexpensive new ones, sometimes $13-15 each! Get what you love, but shop around and price compare. If you don't mind used sets, eBay and FB Market have AMAZING finds on big lots, which are a great way to get started (but don't be tempted to settle for critters that are in bad condition). As your collection expands, Amazon Japan is a great (surprisingly affordable) place for new int'l sets, and KobeeJapan Museum Store has fantastic finds usually at the best price. I'll be posting an updated video soon about where I buy critters, in the meantime if you have questions just ask! Happy hunting!!

If you EVERR decide to sell your collection i needdd to be top of your list. Your kids probs will want them though
