    Nate, thank you for everything you do. You've literally saved me. My OCD ignited 9 months ago and I was so lost. You made me find myself again. I am on the road to healing now. Thank you and keep it up. Best wishes.

    I love how smiley you both are! And it gives me so much hope seeing Mark smile because of all that he’s been through and the stuff in his book the mind work out. Seeing him say he’s overcome multiple mental illnesses. Honestly, I love this ❤

    11:22 somebody without OCD does not obsess over this in great worry for most of his day. Even when a psychologist tells him he has intrusive thought, its not enough, you get a day of relieve then you go back to being obsessed. OCD is scary when the person may actually be bisexual because no matter what you do you will always feel a bit twisted because OCD make him think he she is 100% gay and its that 100% thinking that fukes up a person, OCD is all about trying to be 100% on anything, but life is more like 99%, leave that 1% to wonder sometimes, thats how you get rid of your OCD, that and working self-esteem of course

    I really really really really really would want a video on this topic of thoughts and feelings lining up that Mark mentioned in 32:00 part of the video, because it is actually the OCD thing which I have struggled with, hands down, the greatest and still struggling with right now. So I hope it will be covered, if Nate is seeing this.

    Hi Nathan! My ocd really flared up a couple of months back when I realised that I didn’t choose my personality and started to question whether I could feel proud of myself/good about myself for achieving things doing good things etc. This entangled with determinism and It then made me depressed because my ocd would rationalise my emotions and my actions saying “I was always going to do the things I did” etc. How would I go about doing ERP for this…

      Hey Jake! Good to see you! Some use self compassion work to help accept life and experiences. With any question we tend to answer with, "maybe, maybe not." 😉

    Hello from India!! I work as a clinical psychotherapist. Can u please suggest how many ERP cycles we can do in a session with the clients and how many times they need to come to therapy in a week ? Thank you.

    • @ocdandanxiety
      @ocdandanxiety  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Each person is different. Some do one time a week, while others come to sessions a few times a week. Most of the work is done out of the office and written plans in the session are best.

    I have been feeling restless like I want to move on to do something else other than what I am doing in the moment. For example, when washing my hands, i have urge to finish quickly and at the same time i have to stay because I am not finished yet. It's the same for everything I am doing. What do you think can help me with this situation? I don't like the feeling at all. Please can you give me some tips on what I should do to not feel restless? Thank you in advance for responding !!!

    • @ocdandanxiety
      @ocdandanxiety  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      We tend to mess up compulsions. If the brain says to do something, we mess it up. "wash hands quickly, then I better do it very slow."

    • @ocdandanxiety
      @ocdandanxiety  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hey! I'm making a video on this soon. We can focus on writing down all the things that you check and we start reducing one at a time. Sometimes 10 seconds, or longer, working your way up to staying uncertain about it.

    Can you talk about OCD fear of having too much saliva. Is it possible to over come this especially as thinking about it seems to bring in on.

      @@ocdandanxiety just to add to this in a helpful way, it would be nice if you let your guests answer the question first. Mark is great but I feel like he didn't have a chance to speak.
