Hey everyone! If you see this, yes, the audio is out of sync. Sadly, I did not catch this in the editing process. Hopefully with the suggestions and tips that you guys gave me I hope I can avoid this mistake again, Maybe not editing at 12 in the morning might help LOL. Overall, I'm still glad you guys are enjoying the video.
The gamer instinct of defeating all your partners for no reason is so strong
There is a reason to prove ur dominance and ur better
It was so strong, that it almost frightens me. LOL
Defeating all your partners before Doopliss is a flex that feels way too good
Without defeating them the fight is waaay too easy
Me never attack the partners i only face doopliss he is weak and the battle is more easier
So “Mario” has a sudden and complete personality change, starts talking way more than usual, and takes them back to the highest room in the Steeple for no reason, and they somehow all don’t suspect a thing? I can kinda understand that from Yoshi, he hasn’t been with Mario (and hasn’t even been alive) for that long, but for the rest of them? There’s no excuse for how dumb they were, especially Goombella.
That doopliss for you could find ways to change apperance and the next partners didnt notice that he talks alot while the shadow mario is silent and ready for action
I mean it's not like any of them have known Mario that long.
They may have a vibe of his general personality, but not the details. Mario suddenly getting a lot more... euphoric, after passing the halfway mark of their quest isn't really THAT odd.
For all any of them knew, the Mario they knew was depressed on account of the Princess, and is just coming out of it.
Doopliss as Mario probably knows that the player has the other crystal stars so must defeat the player in order to get them
To be fair, it's not entirely out of character for Mario to backtrack and search every nook and cranny for crap he can't even hold.
I mean, my partners don’t seem to question when I ride the Excess Express back and forth over and over and spam Supernova on Goombas for “no reason.” They just roll with whatever.
"Gonzales! Avenge me..." One of the best lines in this game 💯
All partners: ...We were duped by a fake Mario!?!
Yoshi: ...WHY ARE YOU HANGING OUT WITH THAT GIRL!
Would you believe me and my brother never got to that dialogue because our kids selves refused to kill Yoshi? It was like: "f_ck you, f_ck you, f_ck you...! You cool!"
@@laurapatricialimamartinez862Let's not forget that the kid *ALMOST GOT COOKED AS AN EGG* so if you hurt the Yoshi kid in any shape or form you're killing yourself on the inside
@@sb14andmore50 Yeah. You're like Yoshi's parent at some degree...
"Mario, I'm dying! Call an ambulance, please!!!"
Mario: "Ughhhh..."
Who tf is Mario? The guy in the video is the GREAT GONZALES from hit remake on switch THE GREAT GONZALES and the thousand year door.
*PAPER THE GREAT GONZALES
Yoshi: Gonzales! Avenge me!
Mario: Ughhhh...
They will pay for their stupidity and lack of common sense
Mario: "My partners are weaklings!"
Gotta remind the partners why you're the one in charge every now and then.
I love how none of them find if awfully suspicious that mario finally speaks up and even gets all chatty and just go like "oh well guess thats normal"
I mean, all that and the slouched, heavy breathing? The soulless, red-rimmed eyes? To be fair, I guess they did think he was acting weird based on their dialogue in the village. And I suppose a body swap isn't the first thing that comes to mind. Maybe they just thought Doopliss messed with his brain somehow and it would take a while to wear off?
No mercy for the traitors !
lol 😂
Hai, shoot the exterminatus!
you know traitors get the unalivement penalty in real life.
treason and espionage against ones own nation is punishable by UNALIVEMENT by some militaries of nations and even some civilians.
also abandoning ones post.
i could be wrong, say if its a minor skipping of a duty assignment you may just get lucky with demotion and barred from promoting. but traitors generally are punished pay their debts with their life.
HELLDIVERS be like
to be fair a traitor is someone that betrays you fully aware that they are betraying you, those guys were just tricked and confused, mario on the other hand was fully aware of the situation yet attacked the people that got him so far, wouldn't that make him more of a traitor? i'm not saying he IS, or really trying to blame him for anything, just having fun with theorizing
I feel LITERALLY NOTHING RIGHT NOW. NO PAIN. NO REMORSE. NO SHAME. and most importantly.
NO GODDAMN _MERCY._
I don’t know how the partners managed to fumble that bad 🤷♂️
Yoshi gets an excuse because he was just born. The rest should have figured it out
@@kitkatkk2543 for real
I love when you get that crystal star it’s a false flag. You notice Mario’s evil look and it’s legitimately unsettling. God I love this chapter!
As soon as I saw his sudden appearance change after the cutscene, I just knew Ghost Boi did the ol' switcheroo during the cutscene.
this part GENUINELY tipped me off because i SWORE that something was off about Mario and the story text after that, so it hit me like a truck when i realized what happened😭
One of the best chapters for sure
The partners need to understand mario doesnt do alot of chat he is always quiet that his persona in the entire game
What you just said happens in the game
@@demarlobascombe97 of course i have to say it
They all find Mario strange after the first Doopliss fight, even Flurrie states she's not fond how chatty he's become all of a sudden, and Yoshi finds very creepy how Mario started laughing like Doopliss
And when you talk to Doopliss directly, he's just rambling generic Mario stuff like "It's a me" over and over, something you also see in his second fight, while ending his dialogue with his trademark yukyukyukyukyuk laugh, giving away that he's just a faker that while the partners feel somethings off, the townsfolk totally believe he's the real deal, because they don't know Mario nearly enough to tell if he's acting remotely strange, or he's always like that
@@dustymcwari4468 so you notice mario never said yuk yuk yuk that right there is doopliss voice but the partners have to follow it that way and see it when the boss get beaten to reveal the apperance
Tbf, mario does a lot of "hoo," "wahoo," and much more in this game he also talks several times too characters we just don't get to see what he's saying by the speech bubbles
And judging by the time between when doopliss got his body and when they fought it was super short before they could fully realized
I tried this battle in 2 ways;
- Defeating Doopliss Mario & Mario’s Friends
- Defeating Doopliss Mario alone
Gotta say, it felt good to beat Mario’s Friends, but it also felt incredibly guilty.
I do it because it makes the fight longer and doopliss is pretty easy to defeat so that's why i do it to make it longer and more of a challenge
You either give everyone a wallop or focus on doopliss. There is no inbetween.
Well, at least we don't play favorites on this team.
@@inkygloves5197These hands are rated E for Everyone!
That victory theme is hardcore.
I’m convinced they are all stupid enough to think that they didn’t just beat up the real Mario
That is the point once you got partner they have to now mario is fake and doesnt talk alot
Treason is punishable by death.
I never attack my partners when they’re on Doopliss’s side.
Me neither
Even ignoring the moral objections of doing so, it’s a massive inconvenience compared to just focusing on Doopliss. If they all actually HEALED or BUFFED Doopliss in a way that’d encourage you to take them down, then you could argue doing so is the only way, but Doopliss isn’t buffed in anyway and when he’s forced to fend for himself, he’s a complete joke to fight. Doopliss is probably stronger in the Shadow Sirens Rematch since he can duplicate Goombella and spam Multibonk, Beldam freezes can make him impossible to defend against, Marylin just does a truckload of damage so Doopliss will have greater chances to do his thing.
I always attack the partners to make it more fun and longer because you can easily defeat doopliss he's not that hard, so i take out the partners too to make it longer
I didn't want to but I HAD to LOL.
@ShaneWhite_ Yeah, it's fun attacking the partners. Some people in both in the original and remake don't, but i like doing it
It would've been funny if Doopliss would gradually start to become visibly afraid as Mario continues to ignore him & stomp on his own friends.
“What is WRONG with this guy?!”
Vivian: this is for you! 5:49
If you don't beat all your partners before taking down Doopliss, you are doing this boss fight wrong.
Exactly, some people think it's wrong to do that but defeating the partners makes it more fun and longer
The boss could’ve been a lot harder.
Imagine having to fight all 4 of them alongside doopliss.
I don’t know what actual Mario looks like to them, but how do none of them notice they have the same silhouette? 😂
Edit: I must have forget how the fight went when I commented, but how and when did they swap spots?
Doo_liss took on the form of shadow Mario in the midboss fight. They think Mario is Doo_liss
@@LordKrhiyosI subscribed to your TH-cam channel
@@coach7304 thank you! I subscribed to you too!
Simple.
Magic makes _mario_ look like dooplis to them
It's acually hard to tell who's who in this world. They all look like lines to each other
i kinda made the fight harder for me, not only did i want to defeat all my partners first, but i also used my shine sprites to upgrade them before this chapter, so majorty were already leveled up
i couldn’t bring myself to hurt my partners during this fight since i was so attached to them, so it’s cool to actually see these dialogues!!
Yea you don't have to but the fight is pretty short so it's fine that you don't. I do it to make it longer and more challenging
Real Mario: It's treason, then.
Mario as Palatine would be an amazing design.
Part of me kinda wished they gave doopliss the ability to switch out partners at random during the fight (whether they're knocked out or not).
Admittedly i have nothing personal against my partners. I simply wished to prolong an already short and easy battle by taking them all out first. Now everytime i play i feel obligated to beat them all.
Also at the end of the day this is still a fight. There's no guarantee one will get into a fight and walk away unscathed, even if one is fighting a friend.
I always attack the partners to make the battle longer because you can easily beat doopliss within 5 turns, so to make it more fun and longer, i fight the partners too
During the fight i just kept using charge while Vivian pretty much kicked everyones ass. Then i had mario headstomp doopliss.
My heart hurt so bad when I had to beat goombela to avoid death
I don’t know why but Doopliss “ughhh” his hilarious
i wish our partners said this stuff when they died on OUR side
"But why did you beat us all down for, Mario?!" 😢
*TO TEACH YOU A LESSON* 😈🖕
The message is clear
Change sides again, and the next game will be another Sticker Star
mario based af
@@aprinnyonbreak1290 Now THAT'S cold!
Switch teams again...
*and I'm not pulling punches*
How did they not notice Mario suddenly having very sullen blackened eyes and walking about like the dead?
Gotta say, Doopliss was goddamn HORRIBLE with his disguise, and Mario’s partners were like "oh hi Mario" and brushed original Mario to the side like he was nothing. If I ever get the game, definitely killing the partners first for being so naive of Doopliss’s odd behavior.
How REAL men beat Doopliss: 4K Ultra HD version.
Exactly
So imagine being the partners here. The Mario you were with is a fake, and the Mario you were fighting is the real one. You got duped, but everything's fine and dandy.
But then you realize that the shadowy figure in the fight went out of their way to target you first. Who ended up being Mario.
Mario went out of his way to personally annihilate you before reclaiming his identity
...harsh.
Yea, it's an interesting thought to see this situation from their perspective. Glad you came up with that.
If it's only "Mario" defeated, everyone will be left shocked at his defeat. Everything else is the same.
Ooh your capture card is suffering an audio delay like mine was the other day. If you're using obs, I had to create "audio input device" and mute every other audio source for it to stop
Thanks for the heads up and suggestions. I really appreciate it. I am looking through my other recordings and thankfully it looks like it's only in Chapter 4. Hopefully I have that issue fixed in the next chapters.
@@ShaneWhite_ Np lmao. It took me 3 vods to notice my own audio issue. I still enjoyed the video, I hope my suggestions do work for you as they did for me 👍
I'm the type of sap that I strictly attacked Doopliss. Didn't want to hurt my partners and I wanted Doopliss to suffer.
5:45 I dunno why but I got really teary eyed when seeing that. Because poor Vivian’s been through so much and to see her smile in the end with REAL friends hits me so close to home and makes me so happy.
Yeah much better than the og cause you can tell she's happy to be with mario here then in the og
Wow, I know they had health bars, but I didn't think of anything but focusing down "Mario".
At least I get to see the missed dialogue here, so thanks for showing this off!
Gotta give a few whacks to the mayor to make up for no meal and say you had your feelings hurt. I didn't upgrade anyone else i only got multi bonk
Vivian and Leshy (my Yoshi) are my fav companions in the game
I'm glad I'm not the only one who did this, lol.
I do it too makes it more longer and fun
When I was beating _a_er Mario TTYD for the second time (I’m on cha_ter 6 on the same run) the way Doo_liss was from a falling bucket.😂
I recently got _a_er Mario: The Thousand Year Door on Switch! :D
Can't wait for Viv! ;w;
Ok but really why is the music a vibe tho
The bell ringing is *very* catchy
I didn't even know you could attack them LMAO
Yeah you can attack them if you want to. I always attack the partners to make it longer and more challenging
Mario: "How did you fall for that?! WERE YOU ALL BORN YESTERDAY?!"
Yoshi: "Um..."
I remember not defeating Doopliss until all 4 were down just for the additional challenge.
Same here makes it longer and more challenging
''no don't hurt them! They didn't know!'' is a poor excuse. That'd be like saying the town folk in Pokemon mystery dungeon don't deserve to be punished. Sure attempted murder, but they didn't know!
The whole turning into pigs thing freaked me out so bad. The gloomy look on Doopliss Mario was off putting as well. This was even more horrifying than than forest maze in paper mario 64
This is the correct way to do this fight
any and all battles, considering common sense, are "defeat the support first, then the main thing, since the main thing is nothing without the support", except it's literal, since killing the support here instantly ends the battle (and no, i'm not talking about the partners.)
the thumbnail scared me so hard
This chapter has to be my favourite
Who's the TRAITOR!? Mario or Doopliss?
Doopliss has a normal player reaction to a party member getting knocked out in battle.
This chapter made me so sad and only flurrie apologized for not believing us
The only one with the saddened expression, while everyone else was just startled 😢
So their reaction after the battle doesn't change if you beat them down? I sacrificed delicious EXP by sparing them for nothing?
I think they also have their own reactions to being the surviving partner when Doopliss falls, but they weren't enough of a nuisance to aggro me so I only saw Goombella's message this way.
On my og play through i beat him quick as possible. This time i made them suffer.
Am I the only one who fights all the partners first before attacking Doopliss so the true fight lasts longer?
I always like to think that Doopliss would use them as meat shields before ever letting himself be attacked by Mario, and I also like to think that canonically Mario did have to face them all first before touching Doopliss because they were probably also trying to protect Mario from the shadow duo, and makes some of their dialogues after the fight make more sense, as if they apologized to Mario because they were the ones not letting him fight the real bad guy, leaving Mario with no choice but to punch them out of the way, so no hard feelings
And tbh that's how I would've preferred the fight to play out, like you not being able to target Doopliss until all partners are KOed, while he continues to attack during his turn, because Doopliss is a coward and the partners were probably perfectly ok with him hiding behind them for protection, because as it is, you can just decimate Doopliss right away, and never ever fight anyone else other than Goombella
I do it too it's pretty fun to do it
This game is a vibe fasho, i dont even like turn based combat at all but for some reason i really enjoy it in paper mario
The sound is so off sync
holy shroobs, thank you for typing that, i thought my headphones were trippin
Thanks for pointing that out. Now I can watch out on my other edits that I am working for Paper Mario.
Am I the only one who didn't activate this part where you talk to your partners with both Marios in the room?
Rlly, u had to make Doopliss even creepier with that thumbnail
Whoa! I had no idea there was a scene like that at the mayor's house! 😳

He didn’t run away, HE JUMPED OFF OF THE FUCKING BELL TOWER

@@bushidogangwar8479 well, at least fake Mario went out with a splat.
Do partner badges affect ypur partners when ypu fight them or does it only apply to Vivian.
As far as I know there was something preventing partner badges from working on Vivian when doing this boss in original because she technically joins mid-fight
Why is the audio delayed?
Ngl ineas mad seeing my partners being this dumb to get tricked by Doopliss, since i was overleveld i just put my Power Plus badges, cast Power Lift and start wrecking them to teach them a lesson!
My favorite part of the game was beating up the partners during the Doopliss fight.
Same here i like attacking the partners to make it longer and more challenging
@@crichie21 Yep. In fact it's really really easy to win the fight if you just attack Doopliss. Beating up the Partners is basically half the point of the whole fight.
Honest question, is Doopliss Mario and the partners staying and eating in the Mayor's house a new thing in the remake, or did I just never notice it in the original after all this time?
I think that's a new addition.
If memory serves correctly, in the original they just hung out at the Mayors in the original.
They were in the Mayor's house in the original but not on the dining table.
@@gamersdecision8687 Thanks. I'm having a hard time remembering if I ever ran into the other partners or not, so I genuinely thought this was all brand new. Them just standing around in the Mayor's house (without Doopliss) makes more sense and seems more familiar.
I guess they changed it so they were all getting fed to explain why they were all just hanging around in town instead of going back to Rogueport.
@@dinalfos5 Yeah! I remember being confused in the original how none of Mario's partners get suspicious that Mario doesn't leave the place and go for the next Crystal Star with them.
@@gamersdecision8687 Yeah, so this scene adds a bit more logic to it. Makes it more understandable that them sticking around is more circumstantial and not just Mario being weird, and thus they should have grown more suspicious.

Wait what level are you? I was at a lower level
That chapter made me sad to see how doo_lis takes away your partners, it feels like they betrayed you, I did the same thing, defeating my partners, let's say for revenge XD but I'm already happy that I got my partner back
Seriously, I punished my partners to both spice the fight up for fun and to teach them a lesson in how when you leave the real deal, you’re dead meat! (I especially had no remorse for them in the OG, since we don’t see or hear them apologize to Mario clearly enough)
It’s really just a hard lesson to teach Mario’s partners; especially when they don’t become suspicious in the slightest of Doopliss’ actions Mario clearly wouldn’t take for himself…
“Your friends ditched you cause you don’t have the charisma of Super Mario!”
The partners: “Ditched? Eyo Hold up.” 🤨
does the title screen change if youre still shadow mario
No
My only regret from this game is that Doopliss went down just after Goombella because I couldn’t keep count of his HP.
His hp is 40 like a said weak boss
His stats is the same as his first boss fight 40 hp 2 attack and 0 defense you can take him down in 4 or 5 turns so if want to make it more challenging attack the partners too
*"Ughhhh..."*

I wonder what Mrs Mowz would say lol
Mrs. Mowz doesn’t appear in this chapter, and she’s unlocked as an available party member after this chapter.
@@CLfreak246 That's why they wonder.
Probably something like "I messed up, dearie..."
I'd like to think she'd be able to figure out that the Mario she's following is a fake.

Did you upgrade her?
@@lucylu3342 no i didnt have any of my partners upgraded until ch 6 cause i didnt know where to upgrade em
I did this first time fighting them lol
Same here in both og and remake. Without doing that, the fight can be done in about 5-7 turns
They could’ve made this fight a lot harder.
The game allows 5 enemy’s to be on screen at once.
So they could’ve had you fight all of them at once.
I think they didn't do it because that would've made the fight way too hard to beat
They could have made it harder in 2 ways
Have the partners also use all their attacks
Allow doopliss to switch them
Maybe make it so the current partner gives doopliss a life shroom so you have to take down doopliss last
Goombella already does that
But imagine having to face power shell or shell shield
Lip lock
Gulp or mini egg
There should be an option in settings where you can change the music and stuff back to the original one back in the GameCube
There's actually a badge that does that in the badge shop, it only costs one coin and no bp, it's though the door on the second floor on the inn, bought that badge and haven't unequipped it
